Tulaja Boutique Hotel

I agree with previous reviews that staff are super friendly, warm and accommodating. They made me feel welcome and seen. Whenever I walked by they checked in to see whether everything was fine. They also provided me with suggestions for hikes in the area.
The hotel and room made me feel calm and at home, and the rooftop gave an amazing view of the city and the surrounding mountains. On clear days, the Himalayas could be seen.
There was unlimited access to filtered water and toilet paper.
I would stay here again

I had a pleasant stay at Tulaja Hotel during my visit to Bhaktapur. The check-in process was quick and hassle-free, which set a great first impression. Compared to Kathmandu, Bhaktapur feels much quieter and more peaceful, making the overall atmosphere around the hotel very relaxing.
The hotel itself has a warm, homy vibe, housed in a traditional building that reflects the character of Bhaktapur’s dense historic area. One of the best features is the rooftop bar, where you can enjoy stunning views of Bhaktapur Durbar Square along with the silhouette of surrounding mountains. It’s also a great spot to catch both sunrise and sunset.
The room was fairly spacious—comfortable for two people, even though I stayed alone. The bathroom was clean, and the hot water worked well. There’s no air conditioning, but honestly, it’s not needed since the weather in Bhaktapur is naturally cool and comfortable. A fan is provided, which is more than enough.
The price is very affordable, around IDR 200,000 per night, and it already includes breakfast, making it a great value for money. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
One thing to note: since I chose a more budget-friendly room, it was located on the sixth floor, so I had to climb quite a few stairs. However, considering the price and overall experience, it was absolutely worth it.
Overall, Tulaja Hotel is a great choice if you’re looking for a cozy, affordable, and authentic stay in Bhaktapur.

Everything is perfect, it is a heritage hotel just near Durbar square.

Idéalement situé

Great location on quiet alley but close to sights. Wonderful staff, friendly and helpful, nice to play guitar with them one night. Had the suite with balcony, wonderful, very cosy, felt at home. Liked the old house very much with al the steps and corners and wooden beams in the ceiling. Would return any minute.

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. My room wasn't big but with a clothes hanger and a table with chair so there was enough space for all my things. There is a kettle and hairdryer too. The towels are nice and clean.

The friendliest staff. Good food including plentiful breakfast. Ideal location next to Durbar square. My room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Loved it here

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Tulaja Boutique Hotel, sans doute notre meilleur logement depuis le début de notre séjour au Népal il y a un mois.

Le chaleureux style Newar du lieu et de la chambre nous a donné l’impression d'être comme chez nous.

Idéalement situé, au cœur de Bhaktapur nous avons pu circuler à pied dans l'enceinte de la ville et revenir rapidement déposer certains souvenirs lorsque nos sacs en étaient trop chargés. Oui, il est difficile de ne pas craquer parmis toutes ces boutiques !

Le rooftop, où nous avons pris nos petits déjeuner, offre une vue à 360° sur la ville et les montagnes. Le coucher de soleil y est magnifique.

En sortant de l'hôtel, sur la droite, ne manquez pas le restaurant Balakhu food point. Nous nous y sommes régalé 3 fois pour un prix plus que raisonnable.

Le personnel de l'hôtel est au petit soin !

Je recommande vivement cet hôtel pour un immersion totale dans cette jolie ville de Bhaktapur.

Emplacement surtout ! tout près de la vieille ville :)
