Fuego Lodge

The property itself was charming and the front desk staff were genuinely kind and helpful. However, our experience in the room was unfortunately disappointing. Upon arrival, I found dead bugs—including what looked like baby cockroaches and flies—on the bed, along with stains on the sheets. I reported it to the front desk and they offered to move us to a different room, which I appreciated, but at that point it felt like too much of a hassle.

Later that evening, when my 14-year-old daughter and I returned to the room, we discovered large red ants in the bathroom and crawling around the room, along with a huge millipede scurrying across the floor. My daughter was terrified and refused to leave the bed for the rest of the night. It was clear we couldn’t stay for the remainder of the trip, so I ended up booking another hotel and leaving early—unfortunately without receiving a refund.

I completely understand that the property is in a jungle setting, and some critters are to be expected. But I’ve stayed at similar locations and never encountered this level of issue. I believe cleanliness, especially when it comes to bed linens and pest control, should be a top priority regardless of the environment

We have stayed at Fuego several times and will continue to come back as it is the perfect paradise. Beautiful place to stay, delicious breakfast, yoga, a beautiful pool and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very walkable to many restaurants, all beaches and even shopping. Highly recommend!!!

The Fuego lodge is a slice of heaven. Beautiful landscapes that surround the pool. The staff goes above and beyond on the littlest things.thank you for the birthday card for my husband.

Issue with property is only low rating as there was a significant leak in the roof. Water was dripping all night.

Wonderful, relaxing environment that is convenient to La Fortuna downtown and the National Park. Staff is excellent and took good care of us!

We absolutely loved this Lodge! We stayed for one week. It was very clean and conveniently located, just a couple minutes walk to the beach. And lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast was provided every day. And the staff was super friendly and helpful! They spoke English and helped us book an ATV for the week and surf lessons. Lovely people all around. In addition, our room was right in front of the pool, room number five, and the bathroom ceiling was partially see-through and we could see large iguanas and monkeys every day! Highly recommend!

Gorgeous property around the pool, can spend days there. Great breakfast and cottage. Yes there’s construction nearby and will be for another year but the noise is minimal , peaceful and relaxing there.

Wonderful property, excellent staff. Ladies at the front desk - Ania and Meli, were so friendly and always happy to help with reservations or requests. Women in the kitchen were lovely and food was good. Central and convenient. Highly recommend a stay here.

Everyone was so accommodating they helped us with transportation and recommendations on food where to go etc.. the stay itself was amazing as well. The rooms are clean and spacious with AC. 10/10 recommend.

This boutique hotel is a little gem that incorporates the jungle like surroundings in a very tasteful way. The level of customer service was exceptional. A special mention should be made to the front desk receptionists and to the yoga teacher. The rooms are very functional, clean and stylish. I would highly recommend staying at this little “oasis.”

The lodge is very well maintained and clean and has a nice feeling with the cute pool and all the beautiful plants in the garden. It is quiet and relaxing. Yoga class was great too.
The people at the reception were very helpful to book restaurants or activities.
All the staff is really nice and welcoming (breakfast, gardeners).

POOL IS MORE LIKE A BIG BATHTUB
