Avoid Shangrilla Resort, Lawrence Road, Murree – Misleading and Disappointing!

I had booked a 3-night stay at Shangrilla Resort, Lawrence Road, Murree, after being shown a highly polished promotional video showcasing clean, well-furnished rooms and modern facilities. Based on that, I paid an advance of Rs. 5000.

However, upon arrival, the reality was shockingly different. While the exterior location may seem decent, the interior conditions are extremely poor. The hallways were filthy and clearly neglected. The room I was shown was in an old, worn-out state — dirty floors, cramped and stained bathrooms, and an unpleasant smell all over. It was in no way close to what was promised.

Due to the unacceptable condition, I refused to stay and arranged accommodation elsewhere. I requested a refund of my advance, even after agreeing to a reasonable deduction for cancellation. Initially, they assured me of compensation, but after several days, they outright refused to refund anything.

This is a clear case of misrepresentation and unprofessional conduct. I strongly advise others not to pre-book this place based on pictures or videos. Visit in person if you must — but better yet, avoid this hotel altogether. Don't fall prey to this kind of hotel scam.

During my vacation, I stayed in hotels/guest rooms ranging from 10K to 60 K (including army guest houses) between islambad to abbotabad. Clearly the best stay was at Shangri la resort Muree. The resort is beautiful, the staff is welcoming, food is economical with variety and taste. Within the premises you have playground, tracking, games room (the only not so best thing), swings and benches at breathtaking views. It was so peaceful and serene. You can spend your whole vacation just sitting in the restaurant's balcony (if you are like me who likes to stay in). The rooms were clean with all the facilities. The only place where I found a fully functional fridge and complementary extra mattress for kids. In 14 K it was better than my stay at PC bhurban. I had kids 9 and 13 yrs of age.

Very nice and memorable trip, nice , clean rooms, room service was also very good, food in restaurant was special , with a lot of variety, breakfast was reasonable, could have been better, hotel has a special place for kids, with all of its landscape and swings , nice play area, good view of city, spacious parking, helpful staff, overall a very good place for families to spend their weekends or holidays

The best part of the stay was food and view. Sadaqat at the saffron restaurant really took care of us and served us with smile. Reception staff can learn from Sadaqat on how to be courteous and smile. Late night at 3 am was loud banging of the door, I called reception and no one picked up, I gave up after 15 mins, the sound didn't stop until morning. Check In and Reception staff service is zero but food/restaurant area is top notch and view was awesome it was quiet retreat away from city

This was a splendid experience with the hotel and premises covered with a dense layer of snow. It was a great family time.

Service was good, and the rooms were very spacious, a bit old in ambience but had a classic feeling and matched well together with the climate.

Food was good, and service can be improved more with timely and prompt responses.

Overall this is one of the best and cleanest places in Murree to enjoy and have fun.

Shangrila Resort Murree Hills location is perfect. Away from the hassles of Mall and peaceful place. Staff is very courteous. Food quality in the restaurant is excellent and one does not have to go any where else for the food.

There is need to improve overall maintenance of the resort. The worst thing at resort was poor internet connection. This is some thing on which the management of resort needs to work on immediate basis.

This was a very good place a few years back. But now it has become unsuitable if you are planning to visit for peace and some quality time together. They book large company groups without informing other guests that have families with them. People are seen smoking everywhere. Middle aged men can be see on swings and see-saws in the children play area. People traveling with families should think twice.

I had a great experience at Shangrilla Resort, Murree. The rent is a bit expensive but the service is well worth the price. The hotel is clean, airy, spacious and well constructed and the food sold in this hotel is brilliant.

Nice quite place to have holidays with friends and family. also good for conference and seminars

best food in the region. try to get a good local deal, not through booking dot com call them up for the best deals. if the room is not to your liking ask them to change the sheets, etc. they are helpful staff, and in the winter the heating really works very well. food is best

Very comfortable room, room heating system is good , didn't feel cold at all in room , non stop hot water in bathroom, near to mall road , only 5 mins drive . Clean and modern rooms and they r planning to renew hotel.

Just an average place in all aspects. Its ok place if you need a place to crash for a night but nothing more than that. Rooms are ok sized but dark and there is no views from any room window but only from restaurant balcony. Two of the most important facilities Wifi signals and hot water system were terrible and appalling.

Best place in murree if you are looking for a secluded getaway in over crowded murree...rooms in excellent condition...very beautiful and well kept place..cooperative staff...overall an excellent experience..will definitely visit again

The hotel is away from the crowded place so its location makes our stay great, we enjoyed the views of this hotel and enjoyed thoroughly. However, the hotel is very expensive in terms of food and outside food is not allowed which hits our budget but other than that its a good place to stay and recommended.

Hotel needs maintenance very bad. Took half an hour for hot water to run. Poor heating system. Room was cold. No heat vent in bathroom. Bathroom extremely cold.

Hotel is at a nice peaceful location surrounded by a thick pine forests, ideal if you are looking for sometime time off to relax, It has a nice play area where the children can enjoy their swings. Breakfast and the food served at the restaurant can be better. Overall a good stay!

We have recently stayed at this Hotel in Muree with my family. It is situated in a quite area of Murree near Lawrence College surrounded by pine trees. The Hotel is taken over by a new owner who has vision and great ideas to improve this resort.

The staff were very helpful and the food was of good standard. The Mall road is only 5 mins drive from hotel.
