Warm & Safe During a NorEaster Manisses was Perfect from Check In to Our Multi Day Extended Check Out. Staff made sure we had Everything we needed and kept the Hotel Open for Us bc the Ferries were Not Running.

We've been to the Hotel Manisses three times, and each stay has been more enjoyable than the last. The staff has gotten to know us over the years, and we've been able to further explore the beautiful inn. We love the sunny spots, whether they be on a balcony or in the welcoming & spacious common spaces. The hotel location is perfect, literally a couple blocks to town yet away from its fray. But what stands out at the Hotel Manisses is undoubtedly its people, who go above & beyond to ensure that their guests have the best stay possible!

Comfortable room

Lovey! Modern meets Victorian

Probably most central and I think most modern hotel on the island. Public spaces, lobby, gardens are lovely and rooms are well lit, beautifully appointed and very comfy beds. Keep in mind that it is a historic building so bathrooms are tight but mine was bright, updated, CLEAN with great hot water pressure. Good mirrors for makeup etc. mini fridge, mini split ac iron hair dryer everything you’ll need. Only reason not 5 stars is shoulder season restaurant was closed. But coffee and small bar served in lobby. Pretty gardens and porch!!

Beautifully restored Victorian home. Great spot to be in, easy to walk into the Old Harbor town. Unfortunately, the restaurant and bar were closed for the season when we arrived on 9/16 for a 2 night stay. Room was lovely, king sized bed very comfortable and glad we asked for it! The bathroom was a bit small but very functional. Overall, I would go back again!

While I love this hotel and our previous experiences before, this visit was not 100% positive. The woman at the front desk who I spoke with over the phone was rude and really lacked customer service. Our room was incredibly small- the bathroom door couldn’t even open all the way without hitting the toilet. The roosters outside woke us up at 4am all weekend. While these things are minor, this hotel can definitely do better.

We loved this adorable hotel. The room was quaint and cozy, the staff was very friendly, and the grounds were amazing. There is a life size chess board near a very pleasant outdoor seating area under an old willow tree. Right out of a story book! Even made friends with the roosters that reside in the back :)

Hotel was prime location but building could use some work/upgrades. The biggest issue I had was that there was a farm behind it and every morning from 5am-8am a rooster crowed incessantly..

Bummer. Lobby was hopeful and bright. Room was dingy and bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Mold in shower. Filthy floor. Front desk/Consietge leaves hotel for the evening at 7pm. Carpet on staircase needs to be cleaned. Hotel needs a makeover, and thorough cleaning. Overall disappointment. There is no way that this hotel consistently receives positive guest reviews. I travel frequently and this is one of the least enjoyable places that I have stayed.

Very clean room , bed was like sleeping in a cloud

All went well, the room had a bit of a moldy smell to it but all was fine.

I’ve been staying at Hotel Manisses for several years now, and it’s truly one of my favorite places on the island. The location is perfect, the property is beautiful, and the overall experience keeps me coming back year after year.

The staff is always warm, welcoming, and attentive—especially Fay, who is an absolute gem. She goes above and beyond to make every guest feel right at home.

From the charming decor to the peaceful atmosphere, everything about Hotel Manisses is thoughtfully curated and effortlessly relaxing. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind and savor the beauty of Block Island.

I just left, and I’m already counting down the days until I return next summer!

A lovely gem walkable to town in one direction and other hotels (especially Spring House where you can cocktail on the lawn) in the other direction. Having a room with a balcony was a plus for gorgeous breezes. But we forewarned, bathrooms are tiny.

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend here and really loved it. The hotel rooms are well-appointed and clean. We also had a little deck off of our room with lounge chairs, which we really enjoyed. The hotel is centrally located and it’s easy to walk to most of the restaurants and a couple beaches. The only negative I need to mention is that other weekend guests in the hotel were extremely loud and disruptive. This is something I would not have expected to happen at an upscale hotel like this, but we were woken up one night by a large group of people yelling and screaming in the hallway. This went on for about a half hour straight, and there is no nighttime desk staff to address situations like these. Also, whoever was staying above our room was stomping around all hours of the night, making it tough to get good sleep. it’s unfortunate, because our experience was lovely otherwise. I would stay again despite that, but feel that the staff should be aware.
