We had a lovely stay at this beautifully located hotel.
Pros:

Beautiful location on the riverside, friendly staff, nice room.

Cons:

It was a very hot day and being such an old building there’s obviously no aircon. Not much you can do about the weather though!

Pros:

The river & boats in front although we didn't have that view from the bedroom.
Friendly staff, very helpful.
Lovely breakfast and evening meal, you can't fault the choice.
A good stopping off point for onward travel to the south coast.

Cons:

Bedrooms could do with a refresh, looking a bit tired.
The view from the bedroom window looking out on to a flat roof was a bit disappointing.

Not what I expected
Pros:

Location and staff beyond excellent! So warm and friendly and a beautiful location. Bar area was clean and tidy.

Cons:

Our room was clean but furnishings had worn out and room was in urgent need of overhaul. No coffee in room although about 100 tea bags and an equal amount of milk sachets?
Some parts of the hotel are in need of urgent investment.
Breakfast was served cold, not what I expected from a cooked full english. Lack of attention to detail, like no sauces etc on tables meant you had to go looking.
The staff were all lovely but really overworked and struggled to keep up.

Afternoon Tea
Pros:

Well, first off the receptionist was lovely and helpful, along with the other staff.
Joan was lovely, 100% to her, she made us feel welcomed. We were there for afternoon tea. Which was absolutely amazing, thank you 😊. She showed us to our table, and brought out the tea to us as we were a little early.
The location is beautiful, right next to the river Thames. Watching boats sail by on the water.
All in all, a lovely experience and thank you all for everything 🙏

Beautiful location, friendly staff
Pros:

Attended a wedding and stayed in the hotel. Exceptional food at the wedding, beautiful venue, fun atmosphere right on the bank of the Thames. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, especially Bettina (wedding organiser, not sure if spelt correctly). She worked a very long shift and even when half the guests wanted the football on, staff obliged. The wedding couldn’t have gone better and the stay was very comfortable.
No air con in the rooms but fans were provided, rooms are clean and nicely decorated and the breakfast is good.

Went with friends for a long weekend to visit Wallingford and Oxford. All of us thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly r
Pros:

Location was beautiful, a truly amazing position with wonderful views. Rooms very clean, a little dated in design but everything was in excellent condition. Great to have a good restaurant with a good choice of meals. Staff very friendly.

Cons:

As you would expect, not all rooms are front, river facing, would have been good to wake up to a river view, but it was good to have breakfast overlooking this spectacular scenery.

Poor
Pros:

Great location and good food

Cons:

Hotel was tired. Room was in poor state decoration way. In the hotel windows had rotten window frames and was dirty in places. 2 days before our stay we received an email to say on the Saturday night no food would be available because they had a wedding booking. We decided to go home instead!

Gutes Hotel für einen Kurzaufenthalt ohne dass man viel im Hotel ist
Pros:

Lage gut, Frühstück sehr gut, Zimmer ok

Cons:

Insgesamt macht das Hotel einen etwas "älteren" Eindruck, Bar könnte länger geöffnet sein,
