Abgewohntes Hostel mit schlimmen Stockbetten
Pros:

Die Lage ist praktisch an der Light Rail-Linie und nahe einigen Nachtclubs.
Teilnahme an Aktivitäten während des Aufenthaltszeitraums wie Language Exchange und Game Night inkludiert.
WLAN brauchbar.

Cons:

Check-in erfordert grundsätzlich wider den Vorgaben der Datenschutzbehörde https://www.gov.il/he/pages/id_collecting eine Reisepasskopie. Erst nach mühsamer Rücksprache mit dem Manager genügt die Reisepass-ID-Nummer, wobei diese ebenfalls zu den sensiblen Daten zählt. Die Datenschutzerklärung des Hostels bezieht sich auf das italienische Gesetz und ist damit offenkundig unzutreffend. Davon will man aber nichts wissen.
Die Stockbetten sind absoluter Schrott: man spürt jedes Zucken des Bettnachbars. Noch dazu muss man sein Bett selbst beziehen – wer spät anreist weckt den Kompagnon zwangsweise. Keine Vorhänge am Bett. Geeignet bis <1,90m Körpergröße, besonders die oberen Betten mit Fußende. Die Klimaanlage lässt sich ohne die von den Nachbarn versteckte Fernbedienung nicht steuern. Licht- und Ventilatorschalter sind weder beschriftet noch beleuchtet. Das Zimmerlicht lässt sich auch nachts einschalten – dumme Zimmernachbarn wecken damit bis zu 11 andere Leute auf. Die Leselampe am Bett ist viel zu hell und erstrahlt zwangsläufig das ganze Zimmer. Ein Teil der Schlafsäle ist an der Straße – die andere zum nicht weniger lauten Hinterhof; noch dazu bollert es in der oberen Etage.
Im Bad sammelt sich Wasser auf den Fliesen außerhalb der Dusche ohne abzulaufen. Leider setzen die anderen Gäste das ganze Bad trotz Duschvorhang unter Wasser. Der Badspiegel ist viel zu niedrig. Das Bad hat einen handbreiten Spalt zum Zimmer; groß genug um Essen nachzuschieben – und deren Ausscheidung den anderen hörbar mitzuteilen.
Zimmertüren sind verkantet und können von außen nicht leise geschlossen werden.
Der Aufenthaltsraum in der 1. Etage ist nur mit mehr oder minder nerviger Hintergrundmusik nutzbar; per Lautsprecher, von untalentierten Gästen am Klavier oder – besonders nervtötend – beides gleichzeitig. Den Sitzgelegenheiten fehlen (Boden-)Steckdosen, die Wandsitzplätze sind schmuddelig.
