Old style hotel . Has its charms
Pros:

Pros:

Nothing, hotel was unmanned on arrival, had to phone a contact number to advise we had arrived.

Cons:

Hotel is very basic, room was not as advertised, small, window wouldn't open and no fan despite room temperature being stifling. Scuff marks on walls, room was described as "superior" but it was anything but. Promised refund by owner but nothing received.

I would not stay again. I would not recommend.

Room was claustrophobic with the clammy heat outside you could not breathe with the temperature in the small room.Tiny window no air coming in. Never slept a wink. I had to go and buy a fan.
If I could not of got a fan I would of not stayed another night. No privacy no blind or curtain on the window to leave the curtains open. If the reception was manned I would of asked for another room.
Reception unmanned no one to greet you. I had to phone a number to find out where the key was the guy on the phone was not welcoming at all. Room Key was in a draw.
Just never felt safe in the hotel. No friendly atmosphere at all. No bar at night. No restaurant for an evening meal. You only found out no facilities in a responsive email.
There should be a change on the facilities at the time of booking to make us aware there's no restaurant and no bar and the reception is unmanned if I knew that I would not of booked. It was too late for me to change the hotel.
I would not stay there again. Staff in the restaurant for breakfast were chatty but only to each other.

Correct quality/price ratio. But no evening bar or food.
Pros:

Correct quality/price ratio. All was clean. The room was a good size. Correctly functioning shower/bathroom. Wi-Fi works correctly. Good British breakfast.

Cons:

They don't serve food at night. Food at +/- 20 mins walk in the city center. Bar is also not open at night.

Disappointed

Good location, nice breakfast, clean , comfortable beds

Cons:

Part of the window blind was missing, the curtain was partly off the track, the cold tap in the bathroom needs attention. Room door lock failed and we couldn’t get into our room, after a day out. No staff at the premises so called the number displayed at reception, no answer. Left message , no call back so had to ring again. Gentleman arrived after 10 mins. Said he couldn’t get a locksmith out ( approx 6.30pm) on a Tuesday. Got the door open, couldn’t find alternative key. Told us to “ wiggle the key” when we returned from our evening out and to call if we had a problem although “ he would rather we didn’t”. We took our valuables with us to dinner and wedged the door open so we would be sure we could get back in. We were very disappointed as our first impressions of the hotel, (B&B really) were good

Not a bad choice
Pros:

Staff are very nice Prices are ok. Breakfast excellent. Tv has a good range of channels. Beds are comfortable. Good location for rail station .

Cons:

Hotel has odd opening hours. Tv remote controls seem to have poor connections in all rooms. In room 8 it felt that the room near // behind the door the floor had part collapsed !
