Worst property and absolutely inhuman staff. A very dear friends young son had fallen sick in the room and on repeated requests from his wife the medical help came very late and they didn't even have the basic emergency drugs and knowledge.
When he passed away the hotel staff refused to give even a bed sheet to cover the body when the wife was literally begging them to give one and was also willing to pay for it.
I would strongly recommend not to stay in this property.
Very bad experience at Frii Resort Gili. I stayed there for two terrible nights.. 17th-18th aug. The room was in poor condition with torn curtains, blocked drainage, and overall lack of maintenance. Even basic amenities were missing — bath soap, hand soap, and shampoo were all combined in one bottle with no separate options. Cleanliness was below standard, and the property looked very different from the pictures online. Breakfast was terrible — no options for vegetarians and the coffee was the worst I have ever tasted. On top of that, when I complained to the hotel supervisor and reception staff, they were extremely rude and unhelpful. Definitely not worth the money — I would never recommend this resort.”
Title this review:
Absolutely disgusting
Review:
This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Filthy room, unbearable smell, stained sheets, and a bathroom that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. It felt unsafe and unsanitary. Avoid this place at all costs!
We ended up not even checking in to this resort because the rooms were in such a dirty and unacceptable state. As soon as we walked in, we noticed yellow stains and even blood stains on the bedding. The floor had dirty footprints and toe imprints everywhere. The toilet and bathroom were filthy, with hair left behind and dried toothpaste still in the sink.
When we reported this, staff only brought us one clean sheet and a small brush. No proper cleaning supplies. No offer to fully change the linens or clean the room properly. It felt like they were trying to patch up a much bigger issue with the bare minimum.
The photos suggest that the resort has its own pool, but that is misleading. There is no on-site pool. You have to go to the restaurant next door to swim. Even though guests receive a 20 percent discount there, the food was so bad we couldn’t eat it.
It was an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience. However, I do want to highlight that the staff were genuinely kind and caring. You could tell they were doing their best with what they had. The resort must have been lovely 15 years ago, but now everything feels run-down and neglected. Even at reception, all the pillows on the lounge sofas were stained and worn.
Sadly, the charm of the past is no longer enough to make up for the current state of the place.
P.S. I have spent in excess of 125 USD per night for booking this hotel on premium dates.
Pathetic hotel and even worse staff.
On arrival they said we have your booking for king bed but we can only offer you a twin bed. Your booking is non refundable. Do let me know what you want. Decide fast, go and leave this seat for other guests. Name of staff was ULFA. Isn't it amazing. You are left with family sitting in the waiting area of the lobby thinking of what to do.
Next they show you a twin room with a wall view. Name of staff was RAZE. Upon arguing they show you another room and when I said ok I will adjust with twin bed, they say you have to wait for another one hour even though the room was ready. They don't even offer water in the lobby waiting area.
Next after checking in to the room, you realise that there are only two pillows while you have made the booking for two adult one child. I spoke to staff named TRISTAN. He said every hotel has different policy, may be of you pay extra you can get another pillow or blanket, otherwise not.
On arrival we were informed that you can access the swimming pool at Rabbit Jump and Hula. We went to Rabbit Jump where they said that you have to make a minimum spend of X amount while we were entitled to free access to the swimming pool and towel as well. Even after agreeing for the minimum spend, the staff behaviour was very rood. They informed us that they were having reservations and no space available for us while they were giving entry to walk in guests with cover charge.
Pathetic room interiors, linens, toiletries (which only included one liquid gel, not even shampoo).
Overall a very poor experience, don't recommend booking this property
Although it was our honeymoon, we were placed in a room which was dirty, had no safe, broken and missing furniture, and a leaking toilet. Literally sewerage leaking out onto the bathroom floor.
Towels are old, bed linen is old and stained, and they don’t even have pool towels on offer.
Staff were friendly.
Food was average and drinks at the bar were watered down in front of our eyes… literally water placed into jugs of cocktails instead of alcohol.
Beach dining is a lovely location but everything else is just unmaintained.
They just try to fill uo dirtiest rooms first. Mksquitos, centipedes are complimentary. Reception doesnt pick up. My daughter drew some lines while playing in their bedsheets, pillow covers for which the manager charged me 1.2 million (1.4 million total and he gave 200 discount 😄). Pathetic manager, trying to make money out of everywhere. He said we will now have to buy new set altogether. Cheap people
- Comments based on 2-night stay in Sept.2024.
- Per the Hotels.com listing this hotel is conveniently located near the ferry terminal. This is incorrect: the terminal is located on the diagonally opposite side of the island.
- My room was quite large but the darkest hotel room in which I have ever stayed. No desk, no safe.
- The name of the property is misleading: it does not really have the facilities or 'vibe' of a resort.
- Breakfast, served in what appeared to be an adjacent resort, was good.
- Staff were friendly, as is the norm for Indonesia.
Our experience did not start well at all as we were given a room next to the extremely noisy dance club (open from 4pm to 10pm) and after closing the staff were cleaning up the bar and could not sleep until midnight! Following day we were moved to a far away room. Quiet and lovely. Staff were amazingly nice and friendly. The room spacious and clean. The open bathroom is lovely but mosquitoes were a real pain! Breakfast was ok, they prepare your eggs, the rest was average. The hotel pool is small but cute. The bigger pools belong to a private company and even hotel guests were asked a minimum spend in order to get any sitting arrangements. A special thanks to Ulfa and the front office team who did their best to help us and make us feel welcome. We do like this side of the island as it is more quiet and a bit more upscale than the sunrise side, but it’s very personal…
It started out as a good stay but unfortunately, didn’t end that way.
I booked though booking.com and made a mistake only booking 3x nights not 4x. So as I was checking in, I booked my 4th night. The guy checking me in wouldn’t give me a cheap rate, booking.com was cheaper by $60 AUD so I used that again on a a book now, pay later rate. He knew I was going to have a back to back booking and said I could stay in the same room, no problems.
The staff were friendly but didn’t make the effort to remember me. Even the breakfast guy tried to check me in twice 🙄 and the breakfast was average.
They ran out of pool towels, so I had to use my room one.
After my 3rd night I received 6x phone calls around 12:30pm (I was in a massage so didn’t know till later) asking me to check out! I couldn’t call as I didn’t have strong enough reception but messaged them on WhatsApp and told them I had 1x more night. They then proceeded to ask me ‘Under what name?’ I still don’t understand why… I’m a solo traveler, there’s only one name I could use. Then he told me I had to pay immediately on check in due to company policy, but I’d checked in 3 days earlier and money was not asked of me. I was on the opposite side of the island with no intention of going back soon. He then threatened to withhold housekeeping till it was paid which made me more frustrated and angry as I wasn’t saying I couldn’t pay, only that I was no where near.
At 4:30pm I found myself back at the resort to pay and they had no idea who I was. Which made me even more frustrated and angry, and I explained that the guy that checked me in should have settled this all 3 days ago. Then I asked for a discount seeing as they weren’t going to do room services, as it was only 1x more night, so I didn’t care, only to then find out it’d already been done.
There is a failure to communicate at this property and although the staff are friendly, they are just there to do a job. They don’t care! I wasn’t even offered for them to organize a transfer for me to the port.
Resort is to far away from the main attractions and snorkeling areas but it is clean and quiet.
Definitely will not be staying there again!
Nice spacious double rooms. Good aircon, you get what you pay for here. Ideal location situated on quieter side of Gili T. Only downside is WiFi isn’t great, weak signal and drops connection from time to time. Now that could have just been my room as it was closer to the back of the complex. Special shout-out to Ulfa who couldn’t do enough for us during our time here. Overall good experience and would stay again!
The staff are amazing. Ulfa at reception is fantastic. Habib makes the best cocktails. Willy always happy. You can sit at the pool bar and watch the ocean and sunset. The pool right on the beach front was the highlight for us.
The resort is looking a bit neglected in places as is the room. The only negative was the dance music from 2pm to 10pm next door at Rabbit Jump. If you like an afternoon nap or quiet stay this is not for you.
Dark and toilet is open to sky without ceiling.
Sooooo amazing! The place is clean and quiet the staff is awesome- Hula staff next door is extra wonderful as well. Very very pleased.
If you're an Indian traveling to Gili avoid this hotel at any cost. They will give you the worst rooms where doors won't lock, AC won't work and they won't fix it no matter how many times you ask them.
The staff will behave rudely to you and treat white people nicely even when you are giving them same amount of money.
When you want to reach your ferry on time to leave from Gili, no matter how many times you ask them they won't help you. The horse carts won't come because they will tell you only hotel can call us. Even if you make them talk to the receptionist they will ask them to not come.
They will make your life a living hell just because of your skin color but they will bend over backwards for the white person next to you. So please avoid this hotel at any cost. Had the worst travel experience of my life with this racist hotel.
