The property was clean .
The staff.
Upon arriving at our room, we encountered several issues that made our stay extremely disappointing. The sink drain was clogged and draining very slowly, and the bathroom itself was not clean. We attempted to fill our water bottles before heading out, but the water dispensers were not providing cold water. The ice machine was out of service, and the pool was also unavailable.
The next morning, the hot breakfast items were cold, and we waited 30 minutes for coffee because the machine had reportedly been broken for days, requiring staff to go to another hotel to fill the carafes. At checkout, we raised all of these concerns with the front desk, but the manager closed his office door without coming out to speak with us. We received neither an apology nor an explanation.
The room was spacious.
The room itself was comfortable, but everything else was extremely disappointing. The pool was closed — which was very frustrating, as it was the main reason we chose this hotel. There were several other options in town we could have booked instead.
We also attempted to use the patio area and ended up getting locked out. We had to bang on the door for someone to let us back in, only to be told the door was broken. A simple sign would have prevented that situation.
The staff was unfriendly and seemed uninterested in helping guests. When we came in around 8 PM to purchase water and snacks, no one could be found.
Our room was also not properly stocked — not enough towels and only one packet of coffee, even though two people were staying in the room.
It’s been a while since I last stayed with this brand, and unfortunately the experience did not live up to the standard I expected.
It was clean and convenient. It was near a few restaurants
Breakfast was good
It was a really good location. The workers were outstanding. We were working through a sudden death in the family and the staff was incredible. The room was pretty standard for a Fairfield. Clean and quiet- but the staff was terrific.
Breakfast was grab and go. Would be nice to have a waffle machine
Location was the only thing I liked about my stay
This place is falling apart at the seams…
They had a pipe burst flooding the building and so there were a ton of industrial fans running constantly.
They’re key pads for room keys weren’t working and so the front desk agent had to let us in and out of the room each time.
These were a known issue and wasn’t disclosed at booking until we arrived to check-in.
The food was SAD truly. They had that pre made bacon (FAKEON LOL), Premade breakfast sandwiches in plastic served COLD no microwave in the breakfast area so I had to go up to the room to warm them.
The bed was decent but for a hotel in PLATTSBURGH in January you’d think there would be a nicer comforter on the bed it’s freezing! The pillows could be upgraded. The whole experience just felt cheap for not a cheap bill!!
The key lock system was not working so staff had to let us in the room each time. The breakfast was subpar. Best western in Plattsburgh has better. The room was partially cleaned. The floor clearly wasn't cleaned as it had papers on it and things stuck to the carpet.
The first problem arrived when we got there Christmas Eve for 2 days and I had 2 rooms booked, on arrival we were told the the card reader for the rooms doesn't work and someone from the front desk will let us in our rooms, they never let us know before our arrival so we could check for another hotel and at 5pm Christmas Eve after travelling and having a party to go too, we weren't interested in trying to find another place. Everytime we left our room on the 4th floor we had to go down to find someone from the front desk to open the door or one person had to stay in the room to open the door. It was still not fixed when we left. We were told for the inconvience we would recieve a credit which never happened when we left because the Receptionist said she didn't know how to give the credit that they would email us a new invoice with a credit , no email yet. Also the bed was not very comfortable the pillows for the King size bed were so small and soft I had to put one on top of the other if not it was like no pillow was there , time for a pillow upgrade, the room was clean but the shower stall had a lot of black scum around the base, I beleive it's Black Mold. I would expect this BS from a cheap 1-2 star hotel but not from a Marriot Fairfield.
