Khaolak Palm Hill Resort

Tucked away behind Moo 4, The Khao Lak Palm Hill Resort is a hidden gem.

Don’t expect beachfront chain hotel luxury but do expect rustic charm and a warm, friendly welcome.

Far enough away from the main road to be peaceful and tranquil but close enough to access everything that the area has to offer by way of shops, bars, restaurants and the beach.

The hotel has 49 large rooms, all surrounding a lovely pool and with the forest as a backdrop. There wasn’t one day that we didn’t get a sunbed and we didn’t have to set our alarms to get our towels on early.

The breakfast buffet was more than sufficient for our needs but, the main asset of this lovely resort are the wonderful staff. Everybody is helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much problem.

The owner and her family live on site and couldn’t have been more helpful with any queries or issues (we had no issue but did have a couple of queries which were dealt with instantly).

Nang Thing Beach is a 10-15 minute walk and these is a 7/11 3 minutes walk away.

Bang Niang Night Market and The Tsunami Memorial are a 200THB taxi ride and there are enough bars and restaurants in the locale to occupy every taste.

We will definitely be booking here the next time we visit Khao Lak (which will hopefully be soon)

Haben für 5 Nächte gebucht - sind nach 2 Nächten ausgezogen und haben uns was anderes gesucht. Es ging in diesem riesigen Zimmer nur eine Lampe - Klimaanlage sehr sehr laut. Vor 30 Jahren war es bestimmt richtig schön dort. Morgens um 5 Uhr erst ein Hahn hinterm Haus, danach musste sich ein anderer vor dem Haus melden

Sehr schöne und ruhige Lage, nur ca. 100 m von der Hauptstraße entfernt. Resort ist um einen Pool herum aufgebaut. Diverse Lokalitäten sind fußläufig in 5-10 Min zu erreichen. Frühstück ist Klasse, sollte fast jeden Geschmack bedienen. Personal ist sehr freundlich und versucht alle Wünsche zu erfüllen.
Den Strand erreicht man zu Fuß nach ca 10 Min.

Sehr gutes Preis - Leistungsverhältnis. Große Zimmer mit zweckmäßiger Einrichtung. Zentrale und ruhige Lage. Sehr freundliches Personal.

Es ist ein sehr einfaches Hotel mit einem tollen Blick auf den Regenwald. Mit dem Mofa ist man in 5 min am Strand. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Wer auf besonderen Komfort versichten kann, ist hier richtig.

Wir waren vor 3 Jahren bereits in diesem Hotel, wunderschöne Pool-Anlage inmitten einem Urwald. Leider müte die Anlage komplett saniert werden, alles sehr abgewohnt,
Farbe blättert ab, Sanitär-Anlage veraltet, Poolanlage müßte ebenfalls komplett überholt werden.

Hotel um die Ecke von der Hauptstraße. Für eine Nacht völlig ausreichend. Personal sehr freundlich, spricht leider sehr schlechtes englisch

Nice gardens and swimming pool. Relaxing. Very good location. Wonderful staff. Breakfast just average and room smell humid.

In 40+ years of extensive travel, I have never felt the need to check out of a hotel ASAP. Unfortunately, I had to abandon a pre-paid day at this one. My recommendation in one word: AVOID. This is a dated, dilapidated, dirty, and perhaps even dangerous facility. We had to get out a day early due to mould-induced headache. The room air was moist and mildew, as was the bed linen. The floor was dirty, in the main and bath rooms. The curtains were punctured plastic with mould growing on them in several places. The furniture was non existent; not even a chair. The air-con was noisy, as was the plumbing. For concrete walls, there was a lot of incident noise from adjacent rooms. The 2 meagre towels were old, tissue thin, and, damp. The bed was hard, even by Thai standards. The breakfast was low quality and Spartan. The pool area looked inviting, though the chaise were limited and the cushions greasy. The pool water was frighteningly turbid, and black mould prevalent in the grout. The staff were almost consistently ill-dressed; no uniforms…shabby, Thai casual, and although I hate to say it, several of them should have used more soap in their personal grooming. When we checked out and complained, there was no apology offered (no misunderstanding here, as comms were in both English & Thai), nor was there any partial refund available. An intended romantic getaway break absolutely spoiled.
