Kevin is the absolute best !!!
I love the fun and funky vibe. It doesn't look like other cookie cutter hotels
There was nothing I didn't like about the property.
Great location, near the St. Charles streetcar and really close to the Warehouse District and the French Quarter. Old hotel with a mixture of design, but very clean. Room was spacious, kind of industrial with concrete walls, but with some French influence, like the black bathroom and a curtain to close off the bathroom. Loved the full size fridge. Our room was on the Carondelet side and was quiet considering.
Thomas suggested the up in the smoke because im obsessed with Dirty Martinis! Probably would have never tried it - OMG! If you love a spicy martini - ignore the mezcal, just go for it!
The atmosphere was very nice and workers were very pleasant and happy to help.
really good experience and the seaworthy restaurant is v good
I came for Mardi gras 2026. Check in was amazing. Whitney was such a pleasure, ensuring my room was up to my standards. She also helped me with local recommendations. The hotel is a old new Orleans style vibe with a nice warm pool and great cosmetics like shampoo, conditioner and lotion them have a unique smell. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud. I really enjoyed my time at the Barnett.
I can tell you that the staff was horrible. Hotel was nice, but staff acted like we were the problem and we should be just thankful that we got the luxury of staying on their hotel.
I normally take allot from hotel staff, especially during an event like Mardi Gras, but this was ridiculous. Here is an example...
Knowing that iot was Mardi Gras, and the hotels location was close and it was all Valet, I called the night before and the morning before to check on parking and to see if there was anything special I needed to do (i.e. prebook a space, find another parking location, anything), but the front desk reassured me both time that "There will be no problem. Just pull up and we will valet it." We arrive and the valets are all just sitting around their stand as I see a different family frantically trying to unload their car at the front door. I ask the valets what was up, and they say :"We are full." I ask them what I am to do and they say "Don't know" So then my friends and I start frantically unloading our car. The street was full of bumper to bumper traffic and all the cars trying to unload guests were partially in it since everyone is frantically unloading while the staff is just watching offering no help. Later we find out from mother guests this has been a regular thing daily, so the "no problem" they gave me the night before and that morning on the phone was complete milarcy.
I can name a few more instances but lets say the staff had a bit too much weed going and didn't give a crap. Hyatt has a great hotel physically, but the staff is going to ruin it.
Right in the heart of Mardi Gras, but far enough away. Staff was very friendly. Art exhibit attached to hotel. Very inviting happy hour. Would stay here again!
A very nice atmoshere of this hotel
Great vibe and wonderful staff. Had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and they were both very enjoyable with attentive staff.
This was a great experience. We actually go to this place a lot because we are from the neighborhood, but today was exceptionally good our waitress Daphania was so attentive and so good recommending oysters. She also took care of a small prawn that we have and make our experience wonderful thank you so much. Happy Mardi Gras.
Trips are always better when you have the right people behind the scenes 💫
We feel incredibly grateful for Keke, who made our stay completely seamless. My friend needed a spacious room while riding as Lady Godiva in the Muses parade, and she found the perfect fit with such care and attention to detail.
Professional, thoughtful, and truly wonderful to work with, she made everything feel effortless. As a Hyatt member booking through the American Express Hotel Collection, the benefits were amazing — but the exceptional service made the experience unforgettable. ✨
Kudos to Keke for helping make this trip so memorable 🤍
Se were very happy with this restaurant. The atmoshere was Amazing.
Great staff that was very friendly and helpful. The location was great for going to Mardi Gras parades but be aware that you can hear the marching bands from the rooms. The atmosphere of the overall hotel is beautiful. The restaurant has great atmosphere and the pasta is delicious.
Bathroom shower needs to improve - water was all over the floor. The tiles in our room were coming up.
I did like the automatic lights that came on from under the bed and in the sink area.
Location. Value for location.
Restaurant was not very good. Service there was lacking. Pool hours could vmhave been longer.
We came for our anniversary to explore New Orleans. The hotel’s location is perfect. Not in the middle of the crowded festivities, but close enough to walk to it. The staff couldn’t be nicer if they tried. We were lucky to meet Keke at the front desk when we checked in and she gave us great recommendations.
Enjoyable stay at the Barnett for a business conference. Very cool atmosphere - definitely an old haunted vibe here. The hotel felt very different at night than during the day. Has a bit of a musty older smell, but I grew to like it. Reminded me of grandmas house - and I prefer this over synthetic fragrances/chemical smells. Very cozy and beautiful during the day with sunlight coming in all the windows. Interesting history of the building. Great location - walkable to tons of amenities, close to Bourbon and Riverwalk. Hotel gym is great, I used it every day. Has nice variety of dumbbells/kettlebells for heavy lifters. 2 adjustable benches, a cable machine and some other weight machines. Some cardio equipment as well. Even had a box for jumps in a little stretching area with a TRX suspension trainer, lots of resistance bands. No barbells or squat racks, but enough to get a great workout in. I was happy with that. Also want to add that my room was SO quiet at night, it was nice for sleeping.
Stayed at this hotel on my fourth trip to New Orleans after a friend secured a Hyatt deal. In hindsight, I would have preferred to pay more to stay at a nicer property in a better location. The hotel is far from most attractions, aside from one nearby museum. Check-in was slow, and the front desk agents came across as rude. While the hotel itself is interesting, it didn’t feel like a luxury property and wasn’t my style.
