Pros:

We had the most incredible honeymoon at Maria Del Mar! Our concierge Santiago helped us to create an amazing itinerary and adapted for us as we made changes! They also recommended a wonderful taxi driver, Armando, who graciously took us to each excursion and offered expert advice to help us enjoy as much as possible :) Edgar, Enrique, and Sergio at the front desk were always ready to chat and help if needed. Not to mention our incredible, peaceful ocean view suite! Thank you, MDM!!

Great property - would definitely stay here again. Pro's: very cute property, staff is very nice, they do a great cleaning job, nice access to the beach, pool is good size and with warm water, a few restaurants across the street and not too far from the main restaurant strip.
Con's: Bathrooms are a bit rustic but fine. 40 min walk to the main restaurant area or 20 min taxi (because of traffic - usually 350 to 500 pesos depending on your negotiation skills).

FABULOUS hotel PERFECTLY located
Pros:

Our stay at Maria Del Mar was EXCELLENT, the front desk staff were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and taken care of. They have a GREAT team! The hotel was perfectly located away from the crazy partying and traffic in the center of Tulum but walking distance from Playa Papaya project and Azulik.

The hotel is conveniently located with many shopping and dining options, with a mini mart and a currency exchange within feet of the hotel. The restaurant on property has a beautiful view of cliffs and beach - perfect for sunrise with delicious food!! Service was excellent all around. Paco & Will helped us plan our tours but definitely do research beforehand so you know exactly what you want to do and don’t waste time like we did. Be prepared, add on an extra 1-3 hours for driving to and from activities since nothing runs on time with tourists and many activities are out of the immediate Tulum area. Lots of relaxing and plenty of liveliness and fun to be had with unique experiences available. Hope to come back one day soon!

Amazing property with amazing views from the penthouse suite. Great food at the restaurant, a bit pricey but that's Tulum for you. The staff was also very kind and helpful. One of the reasons we chose this property was due to the parking availability (very limited parking options down as you go further south) and as advertised there was tons of parking available. This property is also next to a currency exchange and convenience store which was also very nice. My only slight disappointment was the actual beach. It is a nice nook between two rock formations, but there were quite a few rocks and constant waves which made it difficult to see if you were going to step on anything or hit your leg. While we did see 1 couple go in the water via the beach, I was a bit too nervous to head in. Nevertheless, there are a lot of beaches not too far away, just a bike ride north, which give you the more traditional white sand Tulum experience.
