Beautiful view
Pros:

You stay here for the view of Wat Arun. We stayed in a 3rd floor room with Wet Arun view and balcony. The room was very nice and updated. It was also very clean. There is no elevator but staff carried our bags up the stairs. The hallway is older but we were not staying in the hallway so it doesn't matter because once in the room it was updated and very nice. Breakfast was included and sufficient. I would recommend to others if looking for this experience. Also close to Palace and Reclining Buddha and we took a cheap tuktuk to other attractions.

Mesmerizing View of Wat Arun, especially at sunset
Pros:

The location is great. I will list all the pros first.
1. best view of Wat Arun on one side of the hotel and the Grand Royal Palace on the opposite side
2. Roof top bar is cozy and wait staff are wonderful
3. Rooms are clean as is the bathroom
4. The sheets and the duvet are the silkiest and softest of any hotel we have stayed at. we would stay again just because the sheets were that great! We have stayed at high end luxury hotels and resorts with scratchy sheets. Sala Arun has the best comfy bed and best sheets and duvet ever. We were in room 801 so I do not know if all rooms have the same quality bed
5. Breakfast inckudes egg choice or Asian Boiled rice with chicken or shrimp...both delicious choices though the buffet has only two boxed cereal choices plus fresh fruit, juices, and pain au chocolate and croissants.
6. View rooms are more expensive, we chose not to have a good view as we could enjoy it on the roof
Cons:
1. Stairs, no lift. We do not mind, I am 75 and I like stairs, exercise to me
2. TV we had the staff show us how to get channels, but we were not able to get TV channels later
3. The bar manager or the man who seemed to be the bar manager on the roof, had a very very loud voice and he made the evenings happy hour UNHAPPY and Unromantic, Staff were wonderful but in Thai culture, staff cannot send a complaint to a manager, especially if the manager IS the complaint. So we enjoyed one evening of our multiple day stay at this roof top bar and then we went next door to the other roof top bar with not as perfect a view of Wat Arun, but very good, because it was quiet and romantic, In fact, if you sat closer to the wall of the Sala Arun roof top bar, you could hear that man's loud voice!!!

Great location, but a little tired
Pros:

This hotel has a great location, close to Grand Palace and Wat Pho (home of the reclining Buddha) and overlooks the river and Wat Arun. The breakfast was good and on a terrace by the river, and the Eagles nest bar was very popular, but very expensive! The next door hotel had a nicer rooftop bar and was much cheaper. The room was comfortable, but starting to look tired. The staff were helpful when we had no hot water and fixed it quickly.

Best view, poor service
Pros:

This hotel serves an amazing view of wat Arun however the service and quality require more to be done. The sunrise from the room is just amazing and the rooms are okay kitted with looking tired and desperately needing refreshing. No breakfast included however the restaurant on the ground floor is pretty decent.
Staff were very transactional as asked to contact booking.com for the problems regarding incorrect room being allocated (not as described in the pictures)

Start the trip when you are in Bangkok!
Pros:

I expect to bring my parents to stay and enjoy view opposite Wat Arun. It’s brought first night impression to our family. My children really enjoy the stay. We stay in Deluxe Room which has amazing view as we expected. Nothing you need more. Staff are so gentle and helpful. Price is acceptable. Eagle’s Nezt Bar has stunning view and drink options. Once you visit Bangkok, I recommend starting the stay at this location.

Exactly like in the pictures
Pros:

I came there for the view and reading previous reviews I expected the place to be noisy. I chose a river facing room which was clean and had a small balcony.
The first night someone in the room above was super loud, luckily I only experienced this in the first night. Can be noisy if the people above you like to jump around. The other nights were calm, also didn’t hear much of the rooftop bar. Just when a group of drunk tourists went down I could hear anything, once.
So it wasn’t as loud as anticipated and I liked the hotel. Staff was friendly too.
Not sure if it’s due to currently lower numbers of tourists but around the hotel there’s not much to do, no bars etc (there’s grand palace etc, plenty of daytime activities, but no nightlife).
If you happen to come back from a late massage .. after 10 am restaurants are closed. There’s also no street food at that time.
Recommend this place for a few nights, the view is incredible.

4 star view but not a service
Pros:

I don’t see anything that capable to claim as 4 stars except the view. Gorgeous view but not a service. First when you book the room make sure you see the river or the temple asking them exact view you want to see otherwise you may wasting your money to see the tree blocking your view, secondly the blind not fully close (it isn’t cover the door) so when you turn the light on at night, ppl may can see you naked in your room. Third, I think if they can fix staff service mind would be a lot better. I prefer to stay in a cozy room like your asian style grandmom’s house so I chose this hotel but not a first impression since unwelcoming greeting staff in the fist place. Just try if you think I am too picky or I am.

You pay for the view and get nothing else
Pros:

You get a nice view from your tiny ledge of a balcony but little else.
The rooms are tiny and dated, the bathroom shower was weak.
The corridors leading to the rooms smelt like damp dog.
Very overpriced for what you get and not a great area of Bangkok for evening entertainment.
The icing on the cake was when we went to the roof top bar for some drinks.
We were there ten minutes before advertised opening time and there was two free tables by the edge.
However a empty bottle of wine had been placed on one and a handbag on the other.
We approached the table with the empty bottle of wine on it and the man shouted at us ‘no no this is reserved for the boss’
We sat on another table and he brought us the menus. I gave him the tickets for our complimentary drinks as hotel guest and he muttered ‘complimentary drinks’ and walked off.
We would have stayed and had a few overpriced drinks if we didn’t get treated to like that but I decided not to give this place anymore of my money.
Don’t bother, it’s a rip off, there are far better and cheaper places to stay in Bangkok and you can easily get to all the attractions in this area during the day anyway.
The only saving grace was being able to relax on the balcony with some beers from 7:11 with the same view as the pretentious bar upstairs.
I would stay here again for that, if they dropped their prices by about 50%.

Pros:

Perfect Location
Pros:

The view out our window of Wat Arun and the Chao Phraya River was beautiful. Having breakfast each morning outside by the river was lovely. The staff was great and made our stay very comfortable. So much to see including The Grand Palace was in walking distance!

So so
Pros:

View and the location was good. However, when I arrived at the hotel at 2:00 A.M. I had to call the staff because the front desk was empty, and the staff didn't pick up the phone until I call him for 3 times. I was afraid I could sleep in the street that night. Furthermore, because of the rooftop and the thin wall, there were loud noises all night. I can't recommend this hotel unless you should see the Wat Arun through the window.

Pros:

Pros:

Pros:

Hotel was clean and we had a gorgeous view from our balcony. It was a little hard to find for the taxi but they called and the person at desk gave directions. It’s down a narrow alley but the room was clean and breakfast was decent. The bed was a little hard. A/C worked great

Pros:

I really enjoyed my stay at Sala Arun. A small hotel with a small restaurant and roof top bar. A perfect location for sightseeing, Wat Po and the Royal Palace are a very short walk away. The view from my room of the river and Wat Arun was worth every penny. I travelled on my own and felt very safe here. I would definitely visit again.

Nice boutique B&b
Pros:

Look it’s not going to win any awards - but it’s a nice small boutique hotel with lots of charm. Rooms are adequate and clean - and gives you access to the rooftop bar which everyone fights to get a waterfront seat - that itself is worth the look.

I’m sure you can find cheaper but I would return - it’s close to many monuments and relatively quiet. Try to avoid the rooms on the 3rd floor - which are directly underneath the rooftop bar!!

Breakfast is fine - basic but all that you need. I would return.

Pros:
