Ruined by noise disruption

Breakfast, room, and staff were all good

Cons:

It was not made clear there would be live music playing in the bar. I was hoping to have an early night for various reasons. Whilst I can appreciate the music finished at 10pm so as not to disrupt sleeping, the music volume/sound proofing was so that I couldn't even relax in my room. I couldn't even easily hear the Tv in my room. When I asked if I could move to room further away from the music, staff were apologetic but told me I would be able to hear it wherever I went in the building.
I was hoping to have a relaxing evening in my hotel room but couldn't and slept badly as a result of not being able to wind down before 10pm. If I had know live music was playing and would have that sort of impact, I would NEVER have stayed at the Toll Cross Inn. I was hugely disappointed

Staff were helpful following an administrative error from Booking.Com. They were super friendly too.
Pros:

Great choice at breakfast with cooked options, cereals, endless tea or coffee and juice. All good quality stuff!

Great place to stay
Pros:

We stayed on a recent trip to Edinburgh, to break up the journey. Room was clean and tidy, food in the restaurant was excellent in the evening and breakfast. Will and Dani were brilliant to. Would recommend to stay. Definitely be back again

Pros:

From the moment we walked through the door, we felt relaxed. The decor is stylish without being over done, the staff are friendly, while remaining professional. Our room was on the second floor and we appreciated that for such an old building with steep stairs that they have managed to fit a lift. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. They offer that extra little touch such as fresh milk on request rather than little plastic uht cartons, and the bathroom has an electric toothbrush charger. The quality of the produce from the truffles in your room, to the breakfast offerings are amazing.
