Very cute, quaint hotel with great service and bar!
Food was fabulous, staff were excellent attentive and took lots of care related to my allergies fantastic evening we will be back thank you
A touch of quality
Very good staff attitude throughout
Nothing
Lovely air conditioned room
Central location but still quiet enough and sound dampened so you could sleep
Good selection for breakfast
Nice clean rooms
Old building meant creaking floorboards and doors disturbed sleep
Softer closing doors may help
Restaurant service good but took up to an hour for food to be served from ordering
Flies in the restaurant a constant nuisance. Better insect control needed downstairs as it did ruin the eating experience
Rooms are comfy.
It is an historic property.
No lift. The price.
The TVs state “ Welcome and then the name of the guest “. For our rooms the name welcomes was not ours. A small point, but irritating.
Car park is a little walk away, although we later discovered there is a drop off space at the side of the hotel. We wish we’d known this whilst carrying our bags from the car park in high heat.
Excellent customer service. Despite of the peak season, a manager checked us very quickly and reserved a table for the dinner.
The restaurant is great- hearty local food with cooked breakfast. Historical exterior and modern interior with cozy design and fuctional family rooms.
Very Central location great for the Saturday market set up and only a small walk away from the lake where you have the opportunity to take a boat trip The staff were lovely such a nice friendly welcome offering a welcome gift of chocolate truffles and lovely relaxation pillow spray really nice touch Breakfast did not disappoint lots of nice choices on their Menu and lovey staff to help
It has a cosy bar too we would certainly consider another visit
We really did welcome Air Con InThe room during the hot spell .All in All we enjoyed our Hotel visit and the Beauty of Keswick town centre the hotel being so near no need for Taxis the bus station a 10 minute walk plenty restaurants and The Royal Oak had a very reasonable 2 course 3 course available too .
Id need to be knit picking here I would say the colour of the room and the carpet could do with a wee bit of change room is small but cosy for a short visit the small fridge came in handy
We had a fantastic visit to the Royal Oak in Keswick and couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome.
Rob and Lucy were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. They were genuinely friendly, took the time to chat, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table.
The service was excellent throughout – attentive without being over the top – and nothing seemed too much trouble.
It’s people like Rob and Lucy who make a place stand out and leave a lasting impression.
If you’re visiting Keswick, I’d highly recommend the Royal Oak. Great atmosphere, great service, and we’ll definitely be back.
Thanks again, Rob and Lucy, for making our visit so enjoyable.
Oh and it’s air conditioned!
Thanks Julie and Gary
Food very good. Staff friendly and professional. Room was very comfortable. A/C was great to have.
We visited during a heatwave and the bar/food area was overrun with flies. Not something staff could easily rectify but it did put us off a little.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Property was in a central location
Dog friendly
Very clean
Food and staff were lovely
Only disadvantage was no parking but there’s a car park less than five minutes away
Nice staff, good location, comfortable room
Toilet was squeezed between the wall and shower so was a bit uncomfortable, and could have used an iron and ironing board in the room, but to be fair I didn't ask for one.
We loved our stay here!! Location is perfect to explore Keswick. Our room was so spacious and had everything that you would need - so clean, lovely shower, great shower products, smart tv, water for arrival and a very comfortable bed. All staff were lovely. The breakfast was great, choosing from the menu and also having a continental selection on the table. We would 100% come back to stay here.
