Pros:

Fantastic hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff! They couldn’t do enough for us.
The room was immaculate and well presented and the food was spot on!
Cracking place to stay in a location that can’t be topped for all amenities and excursions.

Ideally placed but mind your head
Pros:

The location to the main street was fantastic. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice.

Cons:

The room we were allocated was very small. If you are a light sleeper (like me) early morning noise from the main street may wake you up. The main issue was the entry and exit to the room (door frame) was very low. I understand this cannot be made higher but please remove the door closing mechanism. I struck my head twice on this (im 6 foot tall) and on the last occasion so forcibly I had swelling to my head and an throbbing head ache. I raised this with the manager (who created an accident report) and was told the health and safety company lead had be informed and would be in touch. Nearly 3 weeks later... i have haven't had any follow up.

Lovely one night stay
Pros:

We enjoyed our one night stay at The Royal Oak in Keswick. Room was lovely and very clean. Air conditioning was a bonus in this heatwave. Goody Bag for the dog was a nice touch and complimentary truffles were delicious. Breakfast was really nice, staff were very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Keswick.

Appalling Service and Food
Pros:

Pre ordered food should not take an hour to come! Service was terrible, food was well below average and there were flies everywhere. I cannot recommend this restaurant-the staff are rude, the food is shoddy, the restaurant is dirty/full of flies and the attitude towards customers is horrendous.

Wohlfühlhotel! Wir hatten leider das falsche Zimmer!
Pros:

Freundliches Personal! Fabelhaftes Frühstück! Gutes Essen!

Cons:

Zimmer Nr. 2 hatte ein Fenster zum Hof, welches man nachts nicht öffnen konnte, weil ständig Geräusche vernehmbar waren. Die Klimaanlage war für den kleinen Raum überdimensioniert.

Two drinks £18 rip off.
Pros:

We’re currently staying in this lovely part of the country so tonight we decided to have a tour of the town for just drinks as we had already eaten.
There weren’t many pubs open which is why we ended up here.
Two drinks for £18 it’s no wonder there weren’t many people in there.

Must visit if in Keswick!
Pros:

Me and my partner stayed here for a few nights. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the restaurant had a very nice atmosphere, we enjoyed playing g board games before having some of their food. Lots of options food wise and even some specials, everything was reasonably priced considering it’s in the centre of town. Housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping the room nice and clean. It was a little bit noisy in the morning with the bins being emptied but that’s to be expected with the location. Overall a fab stay and the staff were absolutely amazing. Shout out to Keris for sharing her local knowledge and recommending us a lovely walk. And shout out to Jamie for keeping us well-hydrated from the bar. If you’re in Keswick this is the place to be for sure.

Perfect base, would recommend
Pros:

I love this place! A real cosy vibe with the lighting and refurb furniture, and the staff are all amazing! They are very dog friendly with their own dog menu and water bowls, and its nice to see dog owners being respectful of people eating, however there is space enough between tables for a dog next door not to be an issue. Rooms are so nicely done up, and they have air conditioning to keep us cool, as well as the windows being double glazed so we can have a restful nights sleep. Thank you to all the team.

Lovely room, hotel and staff.
Pros:

Loved that this hotel was so dog inclusive. I was very nervous taking my rescue dog away for the first time but the staff we interated with made myself, my dog Lil and my sister feel very welcome. If you have a dog I totally reccomend staying here. Do remember though you are on top of a pub, but it does close at 11pm on Friday nights. If you are an early riser to take in the lakes people do come and go from rooms between 11pm and 2pm so getting up at 6am I was a bit tired due to those people coming back to their room late and being a bit noisy. Also just to add the room we were in room 2 was very hot at night and we couldn't have the air con on due to my sisters allergies. We did open the window but the air con units were outside our window and there was a constant hum from them. I would definitely stay again though but maybe in a different toom square facing. The room was lovely, the staff very welcoming. Great place to test my dog out staying in a hotel. Thank you for having dogs a welcome stay.
