The breakfast was excellent, the room was clean and plenty big enough for the two of us and our dog. All of the staff were friendly and keen to assist with anything we needed. Definitely recommended and we will stay again.
Stayed at the hotel before and again the experience was first class, staff friendly and helpful just a fantastic place to stay well done.
The rooms are smart and lovely and clean, the situation is perfect and the food is amazing, cannot fault the stay at all.
Dog friendly
Parking 🙁
Room was brilliant- we booked a twin room but were actually given a family room which meant we had our own bedroom. The breakfast was superb - wonderful poached eggs and they aren’t easy. Location couldn’t be better - right in the centre of town.
Nothing
The room was lovely, clean, spacious, perfect location. The lady at breakfast who I think has worked there for years, think she is polish. Hands down the reason why I would come and visit this property. So friendly and clearly loves her job. She is a credit to this hotel.
When I booked I searched, 2 adults, 1 dog. It booked a room for 1 person and didn’t include how much a dog would be, last time stayed it was £10 for a dog, which was reasonable, this time it was £20 and a extra £12 for a breakfast as the only booking was for 1! I wouldn’t have booked this room for £186 if I knew this! When asked the staff about this, the man was not helpful and quite rude tbh. This also wasn’t brought up at the time of check in regarding the room only being for 1 person in error. Also when asked how much extra for the dog the man said he’ll sort it at check out… when he could have told us the price then.
The hotel has recently reopened and didn’t feel like it was ready, staff unorganised boxes everywhere, lighting always going off on the entrance. So maybe I thought in good will they would waver the price for a dog staying as a good gesture.
Breakfast nice. Room very small and too warm.
Location and fabulous breakfast
Our room smelled of dogs. I own a dog, and love dogs but don't appreciate a hotel room smelling of dogs.
Central location. Room was lovely, clean. Bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice.
Comfy room and a good breakfast.
Excellent location. Really clean excellent food and friendly efficient staff parking near.
Nothing!
Location, friendliness of staff, bar, comfortable bed.
Room and en-suite were a little small, but no real problem.
Our 2nd stay at The Royal Oak great location, friendly staff, warm comfortable room and one of the best breakfasts we have had.
Nothing everything was great.
ok usual choices very busy but staff efficient
room was TINY and definitely not suitable for 2 people. Had been advertised as cosy but minute would been a better description. Spotless and tastefully decorated but too too small for 2 people and we're not big so anyone overweight/tall would've definitely struggled
Breakfast very good quality food
The room was to small for us
Shower. Location.
3 days---day 1 forgot our breakfast and when it came it was wrong. Day 2 discovered the wall light fitting was falling off and the towel rail connection in the shower room was virtually hanging off---serious risk Day 3 forgot our Drink at Breakfast.
Room was small and difficult to navigate around the bed and couldn't open the window---room 2 ---avoid. Also the decoration was poor on the door--I took a photo just in case they say anything. Air con had to be left on and listened to all night
Location is great but it doesn't have a car park which it does explain at booking which was fi ne for us...Breakfast was lovely with a great choice 😀
The room was classed as COSY and it certainly was...we had our pooch with us and thank God hes tiny cos any bigger and he wudnt have been able to turn round !!!..no joke 😃...also no surfaces to put make up toiletries etc ...ok for 1 night but any longer wud have been a nightmare 😫
Loves the room, we asked for a dog friendly one and it was massive! Perfect location right in the heart of Keswick. Checking in and checking out was super easy too.
Just be aware if staying on a Sunday night that the beer delivery arrives bright and early & may give you an unexpected wake up call 🤣
