Hotel Bären Sigriswil

We were staying in a chalet in Sigriswil and discovered this wonderful restaurant/bar early in our stay. Large covered outdoor area with views of the gorgeous mountains. The staff is very kind, friendly and helpful. We had one meal which was so good in every way. We went back several times for drinks in the afternoon and were welcomed like regulars. The owner/manager, Beat Schmid, is such a wonderful man. He really cares about taking good care of his customers and making you feel welcome.
We recommend this restaurant with the highest regard. You will not be disappointed.

It's a excellent place. We had a one-bedroom apartment of huge size, with a kitchenette, large balcony, and even a washing machine. The views of Lake Thun were great. The breakfast was pretty good with good selection of foodstuffs. Excellent staff, friendly and helpful.

A beautiful property overlooking Lake Thun. The dining area has nice big windows with a beautiful view of the Alps. The staff were very polite and helpful.

Breakfast served in the restaurant with Mountain View. Food in the restaurant was a bit under standard of what you could expect. Only 5 min walk to the panorama bridge. Perfect stop for one or two nights in the area of Thun lake. Will I use again, yes price and standard go hand in hand.

Fantastisch gelegen Hotel. Heerlijk ontbijt. Hele klantvriendelijke eigenaresse. Alles is mogelijk als je wat vraagt. Heerlijk hotel!

The view is nice and suitable for self driving

Very disappointing. It’s not a 4 star hotel at all. Mattress in one bed sloped, the other dipped in the middle, this meant our backs seized up when we woke. A lady kindly moved us but we ended up with a room without balcony, which we had booked. Breakfast disappointing. You are given a nespresso machine, kettle, sugar and creamer but no teabags or coffee, apparently you have to buy them. Received better hospitality elsewhere in Switzerland.

We stayed overnight as part of a hike around Lake Thun. The location is very convenient in Sigriswil, the rooms are clean, comfortable. We had a nice balcony and a very nice view. They have a pretty nice breakfast.
However the staff running the place really ruined the experience for us. The person at the front desk looked completely bored and uninterested as she checked us in. Barely answered any questions. We specifically asked about places for dinner. She told us the only option was the hotel restaurant. We later found out that we could take a bus or walk to a nice pizzeria. She also did not give us the guest card, which gives you access to public transport.

Værelset er en suite med stue/køkken samt et stort soveværelse. Badeværelset er stort og vi lagde mærke til, at det var handicap venligt. Der er en stor balkon til værelset med bord og et par stole. Balkonen er perfekt sted til at opholde sig og nyde den smukke udsigt. Morgen mad er af god standard uden at være prangende. Kan varmt anbefale hotellet.

Really nothing to do within walking distance aside from the panoramic bridge. Restaurant was nice and open late. Hotel comfortable and clean.

We love the location. It’s right next to the bus stop. Staff was so friendly and our room was fantastic. Love that they provide electric fans, as it was particularly hot during our stay. Highly recommend staying here!

The property was nice, but definitely not a 4 star hotel. More like a 3 star. For some reason the first day after we arrived, they didn't clean the room. After we requested for them to clean the room the day after that, they just made the bed, and changed the towels. However, they didn't replenish the soap, nor the toilet paper, nor did they clean the toilet. The property has a lot of potential, but the staff really needs to get their act together.
