A pleasant break of journey beside the scenic Rhein.
Pros:

A one-night stay on the Rhein on our way back to Britain by train from further south in Germany.
Considerate staff. Rearranged room allocation as my wife was limping slightly. On departure staff checked that we could easily reach the station. (see below).
Good breakfast included in room price.
Good location with a room looking across the Rhein to the Rudesheim vineyards. .

Cons:

Proximity to the rail station was among the reasons we chose Hotel Krone. Unfortunately Bingen has two stations Stadt and Hbf. The hotel is close to Stadt station but the faster (REX) trains call only at Hbf. We arrived in error at Hbf but then caught a train back to Stadt. We were pleased and impressed that the receptionist had noticed the problem at check in and had asked her morning colleague to check if we needed transport to Hbf to catch our train towards London. . Fortunately we had modified our departure plans to catch a slightly earlier train from nearby Stadt station and avoid the 15 to 20 minute walk to Hbf station. (We are both aged over 75)

Lovely few days in Hotel Krone on our return to Bingen
Pros:

We've stayed here before, many years ago but it has since had quite a makeover. We opted for a self catering apartment which I think was the only one. Really pleasant surprise, good size room and decent bathroom and the beds were quite comfortable. Small kitchenette area (contained in a wardrobe!) with a small seating area and TV. I really booked this as it had a balcony, large enough for a small table and chairs, looking over towards the Rhine and vineyards opposite. Quite a stunning view and a nice place to relax. The main railway line was just below the balcony which we knew, but it didn't impact our stay at all. Excellent value.

Pros:

Mysiga och hemtrevliga rum. Det ena lite enklare på övre våningen, medan de äldre gästerna fick ett mycket elegant rum rum på första våningen. Fin utsikt mot floden från båda. Rustik, mångsidig frukost, med extra hänsyn till att en av oss var vegan. Personalen var otroligt trevlig och hjälpsam. Skulle gärna återvända.

Schönes ehrwürdiges und mit Liebe zum Detail geführtes Hotel.

Cons:

Das Hotel ist sehr verwinkelt und man muss sein Gepäck, je nach Zimmer, sehr weit transportieren ;-)
