Deeply disappointing and misleading – far below advertised standards

This hotel is advertised as a 5-star property, yet the experience was shockingly below even basic hotel standards. There is a reason why a prominent hospitality group pulled out from this property leaving it not worthy of 1 star.

Check-in was delayed, and although an extra bed was requested at check-in, it took over four hours and 7 phone calls to arrive. By that time, our children were exhausted stressed and unable to sleep properly.

The room was extremely unclean. We found leftover socks from a previous guest, hair, grime, heavy dust, and visible mold. The room also had a strong smoke odor, making it very uncomfortable and difficult to rest.

To make matters worse, staff knocked on our door repeatedly at around 3:00 AM to deliver water bottles that had been requested at 5pm, disrupting what little sleep we managed to get.

Breakfast the following morning was equally disappointing. The selection was very limited and of poor quality — nowhere near what one would expect from a hotel claiming to be 5-star. Not even a camp can motel would offer this breakfast.

In an attempt to resolve the situation, we agreed to change rooms on the second night, hoping conditions would improve. Unfortunately, the second room was even worse, particularly in terms of odor and cleanliness. At that point, we had no choice but to leave the hotel 6 days earlier than planned.

Despite acknowledging the issues, hotel management offered no meaningful apology or compensation and still charged us for the stay.

Special shout out to Mr Ahmad the acting GM and Mr Haseeb the manager for acting absolutely crippled in this situation.

This property is seriously misrepresented and does not deliver the standards it advertises. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend it and would strongly advise travelers to look elsewhere.

It was a great to stay in this hotel… the people at reception are so helpful especially Miss Hania and Hamed.. the room was clean and the room service also was good. For me I’ll go again there it is too near to the airport…

Overall, the hotel is amazing — the room was excellent, and most of the staff were incredibly professional and welcoming. I especially want to highlight the gentleman who assisted me during check-in; he was extremely professional, attentive, and made the process very smooth. Unfortunately, I did not get his name, but his service was truly appreciated.

However, I would like to mention a few concerns. A lady in a black uniform was not professional in the way she spoke to guests, which was disappointing and did not reflect the otherwise high standards of the hotel. In addition, the elevator was not working during my stay, which was inconvenient.

I had also requested a turndown service when I left my room at 4:00 PM, but when I returned at 2:00 AM, it appeared that the turndown service was not carried out as expected, even though the room had been cleaned.

Despite these issues, I genuinely enjoyed my stay and appreciate the overall quality of the hotel. I hope my feedback helps in further improving the guest experience.

The worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
When we arrived, the room was not ready — the bed wasn’t made, and the bathroom had been used by someone before us. The elevator was out of order, so we had to walk up to the second floor.
At 5 AM, staff woke us up because they confused our room with someone else’s and brought a Talabat delivery to the wrong door.
Then at 10 AM, the fire alarm went off, and we were told to evacuate, only to find out later it was a false alarm.
Overall — terrible service, dirty room, zero organization. Never staying at Avenue Hotel Doha again.

The room

I booked a room at 12:07 AM and got a welcome message at 12:23 AM saying they were expecting me. I arrived at 1:00 AM, and they told me they had no rooms!

Even worse, the night supervisor said a suite was available, but the manager (who was at home!) refused to speak with me and lied that it was booked. This is pure mismanagement and disrespect. Why accept bookings if you’re full?

Wasted my time, ruined my night. Absolutely unacceptable. Never again.

The room was nice. Staffs are very accommodating. The breakfast was nice too
