Very good, but disappointed they don't take cash.
Pros:

We ate at the Horn restaurant in the Bull on Friday 13th. It wasn't unlucky for us since it was an excellent meal. Struck up a great rapport with Vasco, who was extremely professional. After we didn't see him for a while, we were told he'd left for the night.. shame he didn't say goodbye!.. never mind. Dora and Charlie both were on hand to assist. Atmosphere was nice if a little loud at times with large groups.

It would have been five stars, but have to knock one off due to the fact they don't take cash. It is legal tender after all. I've heard lots of reasons for this policy (since Covid actually) - Everything from staff safety to minimising theft, but actually I think it's laziness on the part of the establishment. Many people do not like to give the bank a running commentary (as shown on their statement) about exactly where they've been and what they spend their own money on.

That little gripe over we'd certainly go back, but I think the owner/management should think seriously about accepting cash.

Amazing setting and facilities, Wild was awesome.
Pros:

The hotel is going for casual luxury and chilled vibes and achieves it for us. The building, the food and booze all awesome. Ate at Wild which was brilliant and would say is a must to do.

Cons:

The fact that not all of the breakfast items were available as part of the bed and breakfast rate was a bit odd, just up the price and let people eat what they want.

The perfect hotel for a mother / daughter short stay
Pros:

I went to the Bull with our daughter and her little dog and every part of our stay was perfect! Our welcome was just right, attentive and all smiles with a brief explanation of how the hotel worked and the spaces where meals were served with timings, after which we were shown to our large ground floor dog friendly room. The room was really well equipped with high end tea and coffee making facilities and ingredients, wine fridge, beverages and snacks. The room was beautifully furnished in a Soho House style and the enormous bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The marble bathroom was beautiful and well appointed. The room was right next to the courtyard and driveway to the hotel which was perfectly situated to take the dog on short strolls. For dinner in the main dining room we enjoyed a mix of small plates and mains, all of which were sublime. Breakfast the following morning was served in a brasserie style setting and equally delicious. Again - the service was perfect. The setting in central Burford is great, with free parking just down the road and the High St has a rich offering of independent shops and galleries - plus a convenience store for anything you might have forgotten. The Bull is only an hour away from where we live, and I can't wait to go back with my husband - even if it's just for dinner. Would highly recommend !

A wonderful stay, hope to return one day
Pros:

Great location, friendly, helpful staff and a lovely breakfast.

Cons:

No parking, not the biggest issue and known when booking. Spaces are very at a premium in Burford.

Probably the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had!
Pros:

We went for the Sunday roast for my partners birthday. The food was delicious, I had the roast beef and my partner had the lamb. I’ve never had beef like it, it quite literally melted in your mouth. All the other trimmings were amazing and the service was excellent. I would recommend anyone to try it.

A very enjoyable time.
Pros:

The staff really made it for me. Lovely warmth and humour. We stayed in the lookout room. Warm and Cozy! A bit too cozy but it was fine and comfortable and it did us for three nights. A little dark. No radio in the room. I’m sure we were supposed to have one? The bar is terrific and I had some good cocktails from Leo. He’s an expert at them. I had the best burger ever one night ! Food is very good and the restaurant feels a very nice place to be. Lunch was good too. I’m pleased I found the hotel by chance It was enjoyable and the high street is good, not so touristy. I found the Cotswolds a little dull in some of the villages due to touristy shops and tourists. Daylesford farm was great for coffee and food. We went twice.
I come from North Norfolk by the sea and there it feels more of a hidden gem especially in the winter.

Fantastic 60th celebration
Pros:

Well it took some time and a little persuasion but we went to the Bull and Horn restaurant which resulted in a fabulous dinner for all the family. Super cocktails, wine, champagne and great food. The setting was fabulous with good service and we were not rushed. Thank you to all the team and to George who gave me the final push to book. We will be back.

Room Service?
Pros:

It’s a wonderful hotel. Amazing facilities and decor but the room service really let the place down. I was offered a Lemsip by the manager which never arrived, Then asked for a pork pie which I am still waiting for and when I went to check the kitchen, the brownie I had left there had been eaten by a very senior member of staff.
It’s so sad that one poor operative should so negatively colour the whole experience.
