Breakfast
No table booked for dinner inspite of calling them and being on the phone for 15 minutes
They got email address wrong and cancelled our dinner as we couldn’t confirm it.
We had nowhere to go but an Indian round the corner
Disappointing experience
Cool and comfortable!
Nothing - loved it all.
It was ok.
The room was cold and drafty, the restaurant that we had booked was closed and we were not informed of alternatives
Decor , facilities and location
Nothing as we were satisfied
Lovely atmosphere, nice and peaceful. Lovely rooms
Beautiful interiors and finish
The apartment room at the Bull is lovely
Everything
Really lovely atmosphere inside and out here. Bit pricey but worth it
We stayed at the Nook. Beautiful aesthetics and we loved the room/bathroom. Great attention to detail. Breakfast was really nice and it was great to have a bar/restaurant/terrace to hang out. The hotel has great location to go around Cotsworld. We thought parking would be an issue but we were able to park very easily.
Coffee at the breakfast was pretty bad. Also restaurant service was very slow, we had to ask 3-4 times to get our drinks/coke.
We booked a stay here for one night for my fiancés birthday and was left hugely disappointed! We had booked a meal at ‘Horn’ at the hotel and the service was shocking! We waited half an hour to just be given a menu and then over an hour to be given our starter! In the end we said to skip the starters and go straight to mains because it was such a long wait and we were getting tired as it was a late night booking. The starter arrived though free of charge because of the incredibly late running of the kitchen but when handed to us half of it fell on the floor and we were left with a mess of a starter which didn’t look that appetising anymore so we didn’t eat much of it. Following this due to the extremely long wait and the feeling like we were not important there we decided to leave without even having a proper meal. We resorted ordering food in to the hotel and eating in the room which was hugely disappointing, especially as a birthday meal! The following morning we went for breakfast and AGAIN another long long wait for food even though I had only ordered a few pastries, we were waiting over half an hour for breakfast. And again this left us extremely dissapointed, angry and frustrated.
Overall the hotel room was lovely and there was no problems with that but the level of service in the restaurant and the cooking and waiting times for food was shocking!
Artwork was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. Decor is amazing. No tvs which is great.
Nothing we loved the whole experience!
We ate at the Horn restaurant in the Bull on Friday 13th. It wasn't unlucky for us since it was an excellent meal. Struck up a great rapport with Vasco, who was extremely professional. After we didn't see him for a while, we were told he'd left for the night.. shame he didn't say goodbye!.. never mind. Dora and Charlie both were on hand to assist. Atmosphere was nice if a little loud at times with large groups.
It would have been five stars, but have to knock one off due to the fact they don't take cash. It is legal tender after all. I've heard lots of reasons for this policy (since Covid actually) - Everything from staff safety to minimising theft, but actually I think it's laziness on the part of the establishment. Many people do not like to give the bank a running commentary (as shown on their statement) about exactly where they've been and what they spend their own money on.
That little gripe over we'd certainly go back, but I think the owner/management should think seriously about accepting cash.
