The hotel has a perfect location in the heart of the old city with less than a five minute walk to great restaurants, the Maiden Tower, and tourist shopping. Vehicle access is restricted in the old city, so parking is probably not even possible and my taxi had a little trouble finding it as the streets/alleys are very twisty. Checkin took 30 seconds and the two young staff guys I interacted with were helpful. My room was above the entry level. There are stairs, no elevator, and definitely not handicapped accessible. The room itself was huge, but dated, but the bed was very comfy. Shampoo, soap, and shower gel were provided, but the staff had to hunt for a hairdryer for me. The room smelled terrible when I walked in, but aired out slowly. The shower had a mildewed ceiling, the carpet was stained everywhere, and there was trash under the bed. The room had AC, a tv, and I was very excited that it had a mini fridge. I'd stay there again if on a tight budget, but cleanliness was definitely a concern. After my first night, the room wasn't tidied, but the following day they did ask if I wanted it serviced. Tea and coffee were available at all hours, but breakfast didn't seem to be an option while I stayed there.
This is not a hotel, I have no words to describe my stay, because I knew better then to stay there after checking in. I am not sure why Expedia advertises this place but it is not worthy of being called a hotel.
We spent two nights in The Horizon Hotel. Check-in was very quick and problem-free. The room was very big, and quite clean. It had a bit of an smell, but that went away with some airing out. The breakfast was in the basement restaurant of the hotel, and simple but nice. The best about this hotel is the location. It takes very little time to get to nice restaurants and all sightseeing locations. The hotel was very simple, and seemed like it used to be some sort of housing complex. For its price, it is good value for money.
The hotel was great, Hotel facilities were so kind and friendly. Walking distance to all places that we plan to visit. I highly recommended this hotel to everyone.
Nothing good to say about the place...
They booked us to a near hotel without informing us.
If I could give them 0 out of 5 I would.
