Sweaty, dated and not set up for summer self-catering.
Pros:

The room was clean and well stocked. The bed was generously sized and well presented. The lady on reception was very courteous and helpful.

Cons:

Although we visited in a heatwave, which was beyond the control of the hotel, our stay was bordering on unliveable. The air circulation within the room was almost zero thanks to the inability to open the window more than a small gap. The provision of a single fan was not enough for a room with two occupants, especially when the room could also be used for cooking. As a result, we were unable to self-cater and had to eat elsewhere for the two nights. We also could not stay in the room to the high heat discomfort, so had to sit outside until it was time to sleep. Frequent cold showers and removing the sweaty, waterproof mattress cover did help slightly. The hotel is somewhat tired in decor and the freezer part of the fridge doesn't freeze anything. I'm sure it would have been more comfortable if the weather had not been so hot but it really was the most uncomfortable 2 nights I've ever spent in a hotel.

Good value for money. Room decor and fittings felt tired

Cons:

Breakfast provided in adjacent restaurant was poor. Only cooked english breakfast avsilable with no cereals, fruit, fruit juice or continental options available.

Pros:

It was clean amd the rooms were a good size. The fittings may be a bit dated but everything is in the room inc a microwave / fridge / iron and ironing board. There is a restaurant next door for food.

Cons:

No air conditioning and the curtains dont block out the light very well.

Comfy bed, clean room, fab view. Recommend.
Pros:

Room was great, very comfortable and mainly very clean (the carpet had a couple of long hairs in it but I only noticed because I was doing a workout on the floor!). Loved the location. And the member of staff on duty was lovely and very helpful when I queried the room I had been allocated (see below).

Cons:

When I booked using booking.com, it clearly stated "River view". But I was given a car park view. This should be accurate on the booking system... or marketed accurately.
