Not great...
Pros:

Nice lady working in breakfast room.

Cons:

Moved rooms as the first one was over a noisy kitchen vent - moved to a room.at the front which had a 5.55am laundry delivery lorry clattering outside v loudly & its also on a busy road.. (Autistic daughter struggles with noise etc which I had explained but was moved from one noisy room to another) but the room was nicely done up, shower worked well.

The pool was OK, smaller than in pics and v heavy on the chlorine, also was too full of people, hen night ladies etc so no room to swim & there was a squabble in the changing rooms over space. Generally not a relaxing spa experience at all. I suppose due to Bank Holiday it was busy and a bit disorganised. 20 min walk into town & not the best walk back at night so ubered - it's not close to any shops etc.

Fish & chips at £25 is a bit silly so we got deliveroo which was fun but I'd rather have eaten in the hotel if it had a nicer ambience and less extortionate menu. Shame really, it felt like a 1980s spa experience, not 2026.

Perfectly fine, decent value
Pros:

Friendly staff, clean facilities, nice grounds

Cons:

The pool and spa is small and busy. Charging extra for non-filter coffee at breakfast is bizarre. Eggs cooked to order but cold.

Pros:

We asked for water for our room and the restaurant staff went out of their way to get large still and sparkling bottles. Just what we needed and can be quite rare!

Would not return, expensive. Spa is a outsourced gym. Food is below average. Drink was £19 for wine
Pros:

Gardens, resturant view

Cons:

Food. Trip on last step, strained my ankle and injured arm. Staff kept offering a ice pack. Never got it. Very high charge for spa. Which was overcrowded, kids jumping into the pool. No gowns. Poor massage ( not remedial, just fluffy)

Clean room but disappointing noise and room standard
Pros:

The hotel is in a good location and the room was clean. The bed was comfortable and overall the stay was okay for one night. The hotel also looks nice in the photos and the general atmosphere was pleasant.

Cons:

Our room was next to what seemed to be a housekeeping or storage area, and from around 8:00 a.m. there was a lot of noise from doors banging and equipment being moved, which woke me up and disturbed my rest. I had hoped to sleep and relax, especially as check-out is not until 11:00. There was also no hair dryer in the room, although the hotel information says one is provided in each bedroom. In addition, the room did not feel as nice as the deluxe double rooms shown in the online photos, so it did not fully match our expectations.

Great Stay
Pros:

If you are expecting a 5 star or, even an extremely nice 4 star hotel, your expectations are too high. But really The Spa Hotel isn't expensive and is priced extremely fairly. So considering the price I think it is great value. The afternoon tea really exceeded expectation, and I am for sure an afternoon tea snob. The Spa is solid and the breakfast decent. Service amazing throughout with parking and a short walk into town (through the common which is lovely).

We got the cheapest (Cosy) bedroom and it was far from Cosy... very spacious. Decor very safe but an actually strong running great shower, big TV, coffe machine...everything you need in a room.

Had an amazing staff so thank you to everyone for a lovely stay. Would recommend.

Mittelklasse zu hohem Preis
Pros:

Pros:

The staff were absolutely excellent, the hotel grounds were great to walk around too. The breakfast is definitely worth it. Good value for money.

Cons:

The only minor issue was the shower, which was a bit weak. Not a major issue though.

Good overall.
Pros:

All the staff were excellent - friendly and professional. Excellent service in the restaurant at breakfast, which was also very good.
Great ambience and beautiful decor.

Cons:

The bedroom was very small and too hot, even though it was only April. We had to use the aircon!
Shower thermostat needed attention as temperature kept changing.

A lovely return stay
Pros:

Lovely solo winter stay at The Spa Hotel.

I've stayed once before during the Covid years and this stay was better I am pleased to say.

Thoroughly recommend the super spacious room 320. Note it's 80% accessible - there are some stairs you'd need to take o access the room.

Welcoming and helpful staff.
Indoor pool remains good quality as it the steam and sauna.
Such lovely grounds and wider woods/nature to explore in the area.

I am sure I'll be back again soon.
