Staff, food etc is disaster

Staff a bit rude

Staff randomly closing facilities we intended to use without notice - including the rooftop terrace, and the downstairs bar, and the steam room was not on.
Staff causing me to wait an hour to get my key despite checking in hours earlier. They kept serving other people in front of me despite raising this 3 times.
Staff said they would bring an iced compress for my friend, to her room, as she was poorly, but this never happened.
We booked this hotel specifically to use the facilities it advertises, including the rooftop bar. We were then randomly told it was closed several times during our stay (sometimes it actually was, other times it wasn't). I sense that they do not want to pay staff to man the various facilities they are advertising, and therefore just close them.
The downstairs bar was poorly stocked with basic universal liquors and spirits. We were then told the bar was closed, only to find they re-opened when a group of people came in.
There was no-one manning the spa and pool area, so had any incident occurred requiring health and safety, accessing staff support would have been significantly delayed as the spa is in the basement.
No face flannels in bathroom. Very basic.

The hotel is really not 5 stars. The room doesn’t have expected amenities such as a luggage rack, an iron or toiletries beyond shampoo and lotion. Eg we asked for some cotton sticks and a shower cap and that’s not something the hotel has. It’s just not what you expect from 5 stars… the pool also looks much more basic and crammed vs pictures, it’s good to have it but overall doesn’t give a very relaxing impression. Also at reception the staff are ok but they lack basic service skills eg telling you how to get to your room.. we ended up take an elevator right next to reception which led to some staff quarters and nobody thought to just point us to a way to find our room.

All doesn’t take away from the fact that room was comfy but don’t expect 5 starts in any way

On arrival we were given one of the room keys for our 3 properties which was fine as were early. We arrived again at 3.30pm to pick up our other room keys. The queue was really long and you were waiting ages to see someone. Once we managed to see someone we were advised again that one of ours rooms wasn’t ready, this was not just happening to us but lots of different people. We were going to a concert so by this point we needed our rooms to get ready. We had paid a lot of money for these rooms and therefore expect it to be fit for purpose in the sense of being ready when needed. I had to push and see a manager to be able to get our last room keys. This was meant to be a relaxing stay away for a night and you do not want to have to push to get something that you’ve paid a lot of money for. The services and amenities were nice but I would not stay here again after our experience.

Er was maar 1 set handdoeken, badjas en slippers terwijl we met zijn tweeën waren. Ik wilde hiervoor bellen, maar de telefoon in de kamer werkte niet. Bij de receptie aangegeven en het zou komen, maar is nooit gekomen. Verder stond er in de beschrijving van de kamer dat er een bad zou zijn, maar die was niet in de kamer.

Felt like a motel, pictures on website make it look far better than it is. Average facilities and inattentive staff.
