We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and always gave it a high rating. This time, however, we found some items that disappointed us, including a dirty shower curtain and liner. It appeared the bottom of the liner had been cut and it barely fit in the shower. Also, the handle to the closet was falling off. We may consider staying elsewhere next time.

Not sure you get what you pay for in Bay City
Pros:

I've stayed in several Marriott courtyards in different parts of the world and they have always been great but this location had very poor customer service from every member of staff. The hotel seemed to be running on a skeleton crew and over the three nights I stayed there not once did housekeeping come into the room or replace anything. The breakfast menu prices were ridiculous especially the $13 dollar avocado on toast since I could cross the road and pay $13 for a lobster eggs benedict! The room and view was nice, the uptown grill across the road had great breakfast and the beds were comfortable but I would not stay here again. I would prefer going back to the double tree down the road and pay the $30 price difference.

The rooms were spacious and beds/pillows were very comfy. It had a large bathroom with good supplies. The shower floor was a bit slippery and had to be carefully navigated. Now the negative-almost every time we needed help, staff members told us that it was their first day/week and didn’t know the computer, procedure, recipe, etc. It got to be a running joke it happened so often! Thank goodness for the manager who had to wear many hats! The ladies’ restroom on the first floor needed some serious attention and the smell of weed around the property and on the 2nd floor was overwhelming at times. It’s a lovely hotel in a beautiful location and I might give them another chance, but I’ll ask questions first!
