Lovely location, unremarkable hotel.
Pros:

Helmsley is a picturesque market town and The Feathers Hotel is in a lovely position in the market Square

Cons:

We arrived at 16.30 to check in, The hotel reception was unmanned with a sign telling us to find a member of staff.
5 minutes past and I managed to to get a barman’s attention. He checked us in.
Luckily we were only staying one night because the room allocated was without doubt the smallest room we have ever seen. And we have been to many pet friendly hotels. We had our labradoodle with us which the hotel knew about and still we had the tiniest room. Slightly larger than a single room. Our suitcase had to stay on the floor a trip hazard but there was no where to put it.

Breakfast staff were fine as was breakfast.

Lovely and charming place. Friendly helpful staff. clean and confortable room.
Pros:

room was very nice. One member of staff in particular was very nice to us. Ava I believe was her name. LIked the appearance and charm of the place. Great location although parking was a bit odd as we had to avoid the central square and find street parking. Food was good in restaurant.

Cons:

no complaints at all.

A very enjoyable and relaxing stay with my dog.
Pros:

Most things. I didn’t go to the outside behind the pub but did sit outside the front which was very pleasant.
Lovely quiet room with everything I needed.

Cons:

I wasn’t too bothered to use the beer garden. The Black Swan had a lovely beer garden so I did use that to sit out, sorry!

Good value hotel in great position
Pros:

Its position in the town was excellent.
Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast was very good as was the meal we had in the evening

Cons:

The grout around the tiles in our bathroom was a bit grubby. The room was very small but for one night it was adequate and it was a good price.

Nothing wrong with the property but noisy road in front, which of course is no fault of the hotel, just an observation.

Clean room with good shower facilities. Restaurant food is good, but has become a bit more nouvelle cuisine since our last visit.
