Lovely stay but a bit expencessive
Pros:

Breakfast was amazing . The room (3) was amazing, great view of the square and spotlessly clean. The bed was massive and the best sleep wev'e had in a long time.
Would we come back....hell yeh.

Bar prices .a bit steep

Helmsley is a lovely small town and would certainly return.
Pros:

Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Cons:

We booked a classic room, it was very small with a view of a red tiled roof. We asked if we could be moved for our second night which was acceptable. We dined in the smaller dining room which has 4 round tables for two. There were 8 guests dining and 5 dogs. The hotel is pet friendly and we do like dogs but not what one would hope for.

A very welcoming hotel and will surely stay again in the future.
Pros:

The whole atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. We particularly enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners, where the staff were most courteous and very helpful. Thank you.

Really liked Helmsley. It's a pity that most shops close at 16.00!

Room (14) had very good facilities and comfy bed but grubbiness let it down so won't book again.
Pros:

Had room only.

Cons:

Cleanliness. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling. Lot of hairs on blanket on foot of bed. Suspect it is thrown on floor while bed made. Two hairs in bed and bath. Generally grubby paintwork and dust on surfaces. Paint peeling off radiators. Windows need replacing.

Nice staff - the hotel probably needs a bit of a refurb.
Pros:

The staff were absolutely lovely in both the restaurant and reception . The location was perfect. The food in the restaurant was nice.

Cons:

We didn’t feel it was clean. The corridors as you came in were dirty. The room was very small, but to be fair we did go for the standard room. Everything was a bit shabby and jaded around the hotel and in our room.

A enjoyable visit. The webite could do with sorting out.

Cons:

The website either requires modification or the staff that use it need improved training.
I tried in vain to book Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal. I was not able to anywhere on your website where I could book Evening meals.
