Beautiful location and nice clean room
Bar closed at 9 which is unusual for a pub on a Thursday night. No mirror in the bedroom. Radiator didn’t get very warm.
The setting of the hotel feel nice outside, staff provided arrangement for late check-in and keys.
The bed/mattress wasn't comfortable enough, mattress looks the generic one with springs which I could feel it straight away and not enough layers above within the mattress built, probably that wouldn't have provided enough comfort I believe.

Large bed and it was close to where we needed to be
It was dirty, there were cobwebs and dust everywhere, the shower was dirty, I cleaned it as best I could with some wipes I had with me to use the first night. The wait staff at dinner was useless, brought half of our dinner while we could see the rest sitting under the hot lamp and left the dining room. I ended up going and getting the rest of our dinner myself. Never checked if we needed any sauces or more drinks or how our food was. The breakfast was pre-cooked and heated up in a microwave for us resulting in dry leathery bacon, sausages and eggs that were really inedible. We checked out after the first night and they did t even bother to ask if there was anything wrong with our stay that was making us check out after only 1 of 3 nights. No refund obviously.
Spotless, Sunday dinner was outstanding, booked due to location as visiting Centre Parcs
Breakfast was poor for the price was not freshly cooked as arrived about 5 mins after ordered ! Obviously heated up in a microwave.
Messaged nearly 6 weeks before visit to say two guests coeliac and ask if dinner and breakfast would be GF was told it would not be an issue no gluten free bread when they knew night before we were coeliac. Nothing apart from Sunday lunch on the Sunday no note of this on website although was fabulous food. . No GF cereal. Would not return

We had a lovely stay at the Maypole. The staff were very kind and friendly nothing was too much bother. The food was really tasty and well presented.
The bed was too firm for my husband.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was perfect - in a lovely village and close to Walesby Forest.
The bar was closed every night by 9pm due to lack of staff. The fan in the room was not nearly strong enough to cope with the heat. More vegan options at breakfast would have been nice.
The staff were all very friendly and pleasing.The bedroom was clean and comfortable.
On arrival we were told that food would only be served up until 6.30pm as they had a wedding party booked who actually kept us awake till well gone midnight with the noise..If we had known this beforehand then we would have booked an alternative place.
