Clean place however more like a motel. If you have mobility issues proceed with caution. There are a lot of steps, but the scenery is unbelievable. Do not come to this site unless you have a vehicle. Taxis are expensive. Roosters and cats are around. Actually enjoyed the animals. Friendly upon arrival but if your used to a actual hotel- look elsewhere.
Eddie and Candy were the best! Very responsive and helpful. Room was clean and king bed was comfortable. Amazing view (room 4)! Plenty of food and beverages well within walking distance. Loved the Twisted Cork, Pie Whole, and Frenchtown Deli (deli had bevs and snacks you could take back with you - sandwiches were big enough to split and very reasonably priced). Enjoyed pool days, island tour with Ricky, and complimentary coffee. The creamer was delicious! ;) This trip was exactly what we were looking for.
The drive up to the property was very bumpy and rocky. The alley’s getting to the property are very tight. When coming back to the property after hours, there’s a man who closes the gates so that you’re unable to get to the property and you have to get out of your vehicle to move the gates just to get past. Although we understand that the property is right on the ocean we had a huge water bug (roach) in our room. I wish we would’ve been told beforehand that the property/island does not have drinking water and it was very nice of the property owners to give us one bottle of water for our three night stay. I would say that the property is absolutely beautiful, but the walls of the rooms are paper thin. My Husband and I for sure overheard the couples next to us enjoying their adult time alone and let’s just say they were not shy about it at all. Overall, it was an okay stay but we wouldn’t stay here again.
Very cute and private retreat. The owners/managers were very accomodating! Ocean view room was stunning!
My water's edge room #17 offered spectacular views. The enduring sound of Caribbean waves provided a lovely backdrop during my 4 night stay. I started my day with morning coffee in the Olga's Fancy reception. Midmorning I moved to the pool, which offers panoramic views and cooling water, to sunbath. In early afternoon, I explored nearby cafes. My favorite was French Quarter Bistro. And I concluded my evenings at Oceana, a fine dining restaurant adjoining the inn. Throughout, a very relaxing and comfortable experience.
We had the most absolute wonderful time at Olgas. The owners were very pleasant and helpful with reccomendations. My only suggestion is adding a microwave to rooms or even to coffee and dining room. We could never finish our food and had to throw it out. Other than that the VIEWS 😲 the staff... superb. Oceana was a wonderful place to dine next door and both places forever in our fondest memories bc the trip of a lifetime resulted in our engagement as well! Thanks again from two boring Kansans. John and Allisha 😉
My husband and I enjoyed our stay! Great historic location, and within walking distance to many attractions. Eddie made the check-in process easy and offered to call taxi services. Clean rooms with wonderful artwork! Would stay again!
Room #17 offers panoramic St. Thomas views. In the dark of night, town lights transform the view to the left. During the day, boats animate the energetic waters. The cottage is built at water's edge, which ensures a constant, calming sound of waves. Nearby restaurants Oceana and French Quarter Bistro have excellent menus. And Eddie provides excellent coffee each morning, a wonderful tradition that brings together inn guests.
This place is so beautiful and secluded. It’s like having your own tranquil slice of St Thomas all to yourself. The staff is so friendly and are always providing great recommendations as to where to go and what to see
I had a pleasent stay ,wonderful staff,i had to extend my stay do to flight concellations and they were so helpful and accommodating. I will go back for sure !
I really liked this place and I am pretty picky. The island has lots of elevation differences. So as usual, you will climb some steps to get to rooms. Nothing unusual but if it is a problem then this place (and most others) could be a challenge. To me it’s worth it. Cool island vibe and eco conscious. Proprietor is a fountain of knowledge and advice. Treats you fairly. Definitely will stay again!!!
Bed was very comfortable. The balcony had a nice sitting area with the pool was clean and refreshing. It was a short walk from the ferry and to the seaplane base. Loved all the kitties around.
Thanks Eddie. Everything was perfect, the room was clean with a great view. Definitely we will stay again.
We actually stayed at the hotel in the summer of 2024. We got a beautiful little cottage that was not attached to the actual hotel but it suited us perfectly. It was extremely clean and bright and so cosy right on the water. Eddie was wonderful. He was so nice and told us about an amazing beach where we could swim with the turtles. We took a local bus there and swam with the turtles all day. We had a wonderful coffee and tea in the mornings where we sat on the veranda with their cute little cats. This is off the beaten path, but it was really cute and quaint and had a lovely restaurant right next-door. It’s right near the marina where we came in from the BVI’s. A lovely little hotel that I would definitely recommend. They also have a fabulous swimming pool which we used in the evenings. We stayed for two nights. The beds were very comfortable. We also loved that they had a fridge so we went to the local grocery store and bought some food and made sandwiches for our day trips. Eddie also told us that they changed the sheets every five days, even if no one has stayed in the room. For breakfast, we also bought oatmeal and yoghurt which we ate on the veranda. Lovely little hotel.
Beautiful property off the beaten track overlooking the Bay or ocean. Staff was VERY nice and accommodating. Saw a few bugs, no big deal, we're in the Caribbean.
Not far from the airport. Clean room with good air conditioning and comfortable bed. Also very nice views.
Our room was clean and nicely furnished, comfortable but not luxurious but in line, with the price. The owners are friendly and helpful. The pool provided a refreshing oasis from the heat. We particularly liked that there were several restaurants of various price ranges within easy walking distance from the hotel.
If you are hoping to experience St Thomas like a local, Olga's Fancy should be high on your list. Tucked away at the end of a peninsula in Frenchtown, it is easy to see why past Governors and the Russian Consulate chose this hillside estate overlooking both Charlotte Amalie and the ocean. You'll be footsteps (and a few staircases) away from several quality restaurants, as well as the jitney bus system that can take you to Brewers Beach, Charlotte Amalie, Sapphire Beach, and Red Hook (where you can catch the passenger ferry to St. John).
We chose a seaside room and loved our private balcony. We also enjoyed coffee on the lanai each morning and the pool to ourselves nearly every night. We like walking and exploring more than sunbathing on the beach, so it was not a concern that Olga's Fancy is more on views and city access focused than being a beachfront resort.
All in all, a great five-night stay in July. See my review(s) on Yelp for more specific details on this property and other establishments we visited on our trip.
Great place to stay for a couple. Good restaurants are close. The room was very clean. Would stay here again. Beautiful views of water and boats.
We enjoyed our stay! Good restaurants nearby. Coffee every morning. The room was very clean and had pretty view of the water and boats. Owner gave us snorkeling equipment and cooler to use for beach. Great trip!!
