Disappointed by the bad smell,smelt like bad sewage problem or something but it was revolting

Perfect location and friendly staff

Cons:

There was an awful smell( smelt like a strong dirty toilet smell) in the lifts and in the corridors down from the ground out to the outside area,I thought it was revolting and was nearly sick twice

They say studio room. That room dosent have anything. There is no facial tissue, no body was, no directory, no phone nothing. For 2 people they gave only 1 towel each and 1 small finger size, shampoo, bottle, and conditioner one soap. how can two people can use in a small shampoo bottle for one day and then they didn’t refill it after three days so when people use the shampoo conditioner it’s finish and I couldn’t shower and wash my hair because there is no shampoo and there is no phone so that I can call and ask for the shampoo and the towels I have to go down through the lift from fifth floor down and then collect. This is ridiculous. They say this is for Hotel, but there is no facility for Forster. There is the pool but the pool is broken down. There is no heating system on the Sona or spa. They took money and put them they are forced hotel but there is no criteria for Forster hotel in this hotel housekeeping facilities is very bad

Needs a few extra comfort items but overall ok
Pros:

It was clean & tidy & the breakfast was a total bonus.
Very friendly convenient Cafe with nice food & staff

Cons:

Bed very uncomfortable & the pillows were worse. The parking area had a very bad stench that was like a very bad drainage problem that lingered for the 4 nights & days.... Didn't see any staff to comment on them only on arrival.

lovely staff but location is dodgy as. Cairns city centre is cooked

the staff were freindly

Cons:

no daily cleaning of room. The location is terrible. Very loud every night with sirens, people yahooing and yelling and cars dragging on the main road. You wouldn't have your kids there and it was a vulnerable feeling walking back there alone overnight. There is a massage parlour open all night across the road with dodgy buggers coming and going.

Nice room but road noise would mean I would not stay there again.
Pros:

The room was very comfortable

Cons:

The road noise was horrendous. It went until late at night and started very early. We thought being on the 7th floor it wouldn't have been that bad.
Breakfast was included but had to be at Cafe down the road. Cafe was nice and close however the menu was VERY limited.

Comfortable, convenient base near Cairns esplanade
Pros:

Comfortable wide bed, good mattress and pillows, good quality linen. 2 large comfortable chairs on the balcony, with a nice view over the pool area and mountains behind Cairns. Esplanade walkable distance away for bars, restaurants. Shopping centre walkable distance too, or Cairns Aquarium. Good blackout curtains. We had a comfortable night's sleep, bar jet lag, after a very long journey.

Cons:

Small, thin towels. Very meagre supply of toiletries. Shower hose was missing, overhead rain shower was functional but no showercap provided. Plenty of hot water, good water pressure and bathroom clean. The toiletries and towels were the only thing to let the room down.
