Our family stayed in two of the "apartments" - one one bed, one two bed. They are separate from the hotel. Each had bed and bathroom(s) with a very good kitchen and sitting area as well as a deck overlooking the fields and fells. The space in the two bed was exceptional. The rooms are very modern with classical touches. This is a great way for a family to stay together especially if you want to self cater. The location, just outside the National Park (which is a good point as it is much quieter), is perfect for exploring the north lakes, the Eden valley and the west side of the Pennines. Penrith is a great centre literally on your doorstep. Booths is a high quality supermarket with all you need and a lot of local produce and there is a farmshop just down the A6 in Plumpton for more local produce as well.The garden has great views over the northern lakes and Saddleback.
The staff demonstrated typical warm Cumbrian hospitality and were very welcoming
We did not stay in the main hotel so can't really comment on that. The bar was excellent.
Lovely setting and room was nice
A quiet location with good views to the distant fells. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped for a short break. The staff were great and I enjoyed a good breakfast. I would definitely be happy to stay again.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful views across the Cumbrian countryside. Relaxing with a drink outside in the garden was idyllic. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed. The staff were really friendly and very efficient both in serving our evening meal, breakfast and on check out. The food was very good and breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in the annexe in a lovely 1 bedroom apartment. I have to say it is lovely. Everything was to a high standard with everything you needed. I felt very spoilt staying here for a short weekend get away. Just to add the shower is amazing.
Overall I would definitely stay here again as a lovely treat as I usually do camping in the Lakes so this felt like pure luxury

We stayed for a family party. The hotel was fully booked but we were able to get a self-catering unit across from the hotel. The party was excellently organised. We didn't have breakfast (the facilities to do our own were great) but we had a meal in the restaurant the following night which was very good and the staff were very friendly
The lay out in the restaurant was a bit strange. Most tables had been taken for a small party so we were at a table on its own in the middle of the room.
I was pleased by the apartment room; it was very comfortable and I liked the option of using the kitchen area. It was quiet with great views to the Lake District hills.
I thought the evening menu was a bit limited and I found the meal a bit salty.
