Staff attitudes which were fantastic and friendly, the view from the hotel was beautiful and the food at Dinner and Breakfast was exceptional, fresh ingredients cooked to order and served with a smile. The bar area is comfortable and the Guinness was superb.
The loft room they gave me first wasn't for me, but they changed it for me without any fuss at all.
Amazing staff. Very friendly. Kept the restaurant open for us after our 2 hour delay driving down from Scotland

We liked everything about this property. Our room was fabulous and had a great view which was lovely. Dinner was exceptional and so was breakfast.
The grounds and scenery are beautiful.
Really loud at night could hear all neighbours conversations and every bang.
Breakfast was very poor and cold.
When we went to go out at around 6pm on the Saturday for dinner, we were stopped by a receptionist who shouted us as we were walking out the door. She was extremely rude and questioned where we were going and what time we would be back. She proceeded to ask us to leave the key for ‘fire safety reasons’ which I didn’t really have a problem with but we were spoken to like school children in full view and earshot of many other guests who were eating or at their bar which was extremely embarrassing.

Roundthorn Country House & Luxury Apartments is simply outstanding. This is much more than a normal accommodation – it is a very special experience.
The house has been renovated with so much love and attention to detail while still having its authentic country house character and charm. You can feel the history of this wonderful place.
The owners and the entire staff were incredibly friendly & welcoming. And the breakfast was absolutely worldclass!
If we could give 12 points instead of 10, we defintitely would.

Great place, stayed before few years back in the apartments and it was amazing, warm and clean and relaxing ambience. We stayed at the hotel part this time and the room didn't disappoint! Very clean and beautiful views. We had dinner on Sunday and food was delicious, big portions and friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing and myself and kids loved it. Thank you :)

Staff were very helpful. Really enjoyed the breakfast and the dinner was appreciated by all of us. Two friends, who also stayed, also had dinner with us. Really nice location and grounds. Bedroom was spacious and comfortable and we slept well.
Not so much about not liking... but I had requested a superior double and ended up with a family room. In the end though it was a bigger room than expected.
A small pretty hotel with very friendly stuff. A nice, bright, and spotless clean room, comfortable beds and nice views.
The breakfast was lovely and the overall service was excellent.
We were met with a lovely greeting to Roundthorn Country House, and the weather was great, so we were able to enjoy a drink on the lovely gardens to the front of the house. The food in the evening was very good. We didn't have a cooked breakfast, but the continental was more than adequate for us, and we were very much encouraged to go back for more should we have wanted to. The service was excellent. The room was in the loft space. Very roomy, but quite low ceilings, and therefore is was quite hot on a sunny day. We did have a fan though, which provided some comfort.
There was no shampoo or conditioner in the room. Something and nothing really, but I hadn't planned for not having any in the room so I made use of the body wash instead. There is a hairdryer though, so that was very handy.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location
The apartment was very comfortable and cleverly laid out to maximise space. Plenty of sockets and lots of lighting switches to create different ambiance.
Great huge bed and lovely powerful shower.
There was nothing I didn’t like about the property, however the duvet was very lumpy

Perfect stop off on the way to Scotland, will come again.
