Great location, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast
Pros:

Great location for walking everywhere. Fab breakfast and staff really lovely and helpful.

Cons:

Very noisy with a building site at the back of the hotel.
The pillow were really odd

Great hotel, perfect location!
Pros:

This location of this hotel was perfect as a base for exploring the city. Five minutes for the Ribeira riverfront bars and restaurants, seven minutes to the Ponte Luis bridge, ten minutes from the cathedral, ten minutes from Sao Bento station. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, good nightlife and good transport with bus stops just outside.

We also really liked the hotel itself. The room wasn’t huge, but still bigger than we’ve stayed in visiting any other European city. It was clean, comfortable and plenty space for just two of us. It has all the amenities you’d expect for a four star hotel, really comfortable bed, good shower and good air conditioning! Our window faced into an internal courtyard so not much of a view; but from where the hotel is situated I’m not sure many rooms will have a spectacular view unless on the upper floors.

Breakfast was good, a good selection of hot and cold food, cereal, fruit etc, though there was a lack of eggs!

We arrived earlier than check in, but were able to store luggage at the hotel while we explored a bit. Staff were all very helpful, helped with directions and restaurant recommendations etc.

My only complaint was that we didn’t get breakfast on our departure day. We had an early flight, but was assured by reception staff the day before that something would be provided for us to take away. When we enquired at reception this morning the man at the desk knew nothing about it and nothing had been left. A bit disappointing considering it had been paid for, and also that we had a long journey ahead. Aside from this we loved this hotel and would have marked 5 stars otherwise. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Porto!
