Recommended to go for lunch, and it didn’t disappoint. Great prices and very yum food, also great views into 25 de mayo Plaza. Special shout out to Patricia who was so kind and friendly, she really made our experience special and memorable. Thanks!
The staff is so very considerate and helpful it has really stood out as one of the best places I've stayed in. The Hotel restaurant is not open in the evenings, and as we arrived late on our first night the staff was kind enough to get us great food from nearby restaurants and send it right to our room with no extra charge.
The location is right on the main square and is perfect for visiting the city as most of the best tourist attractions are only a few steps away.
The property is a beautifully renovated classical style Spanish building with indoor patios.
A magnificent building at the Plaza 25 de Mayo, well-kept room in a classic style. Plenty of choice for breakfast and helpful staff. The patio with numerous sofas and chairs was an oasis of peace compared to the bustle of the main plaza.
A in all great hotel. Big sized rooms, comfortable beds and excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel is in the heart and centre of Sucre. It is easy to check in and out and the cost is nothing wrong with.
Nice Hotel and staff and great location in the very same heart of the city (Sucre-Bolivia)
The hotel is located right in the city center and the rooms are with a view to the inside plaza. No noise from the busy city. The rooms are decorated in old style with curtains and pictures from the past. Very enjoyable when you are on a tourst trip.
Stayed here in November 2017 in a group of 19 where 1\4 of guests have had items stolen. We left the hotel at 12pm and returned at 3pm to find all rooms cleaned and everybody's luggage moved, as if somebody has went through personal belongings. There was £350 approx lost in cash of varying currencies and an expensive smartphone missing. The hotel then proceeded to blame the theft on guests 'being drunk' and were selective on what CCTV was shown, only taking the guests seriously when the police where mentioned.
Throughout our stay, a guest was in their room when two different men in dark casual clothes unlocked the door without knocking, came in and gave the excuses of 'fixing hot water' -the hot water was not broken nor had the water been mentioned to reception and 'checking to see if the room was clean' despite not having any cleaning materials to then clean the room- this may have been a coincidence.
The hotel itself was fine for what it is advertised as, in a good location and clean but sadly not a trustworthy establishment.
Love the place. Rooms are great. Breakfast included, delicious.
Comfortable..... Just love it Everyone is very friendly. Great place because it is right in the middle of town, everything close by, lots of good restaurants, museums, just a fantastic place.
Great location situated on the plaza. Hotel nice, staff friendly but the room was a little dark as there seemed to be a lack of windows. Great shower and breakfast was basic but nice. Covered courtyard great to sit and relax in. Would definately consider staying here again.
Stayed here only for one night. Staff were very friendly and were on hand if any help was needed. Breakfast was basic but nice and the room was comfortable and clean. Interesting decor but added to the atmosphere of the hotel lovely inner courtyards to sit and relax.
Been to a room by the courtyard, very relaxing and great bed too. Good showers. Definitely great location, slow internet but everything else is fine. A bit expensive for what you get but still ok as there aren't other choices in downtown.
Stayed here for one night after a week traveling in the country side. Was looking forward to a hot shower, clean room and good internet. Found none of these - shower was warm but not hot, bathroom was old with cracks, and internet went out every 10 minutes. Staff was not particularly friendly for a four star. Positives - great great location, and excellent breakfast. Wouldn't stay again.
Warning - I had my money stolen while I staying at this hotel. I went out for lunch and came back 2 hours later to find my room cleaned and my money in my backpack replaced with fake paper notes. Obviously my fault for leaving money in the room but I never expected this would happen at a 4 star hotel. Don't leave anything valuable in your room if you dare stay at this hotel
We stayed here for 5 nights in October. We were on the ground floor in a room on the inner courtyard. The room was lovely, spacious, nicely decorated and had a very powerful shower with lots of hot water. The location is perfect, right on the main square. The management and staff are the most friendly we have found and went out of their way to help us. The breakfast is the best we have had in Bolivia, lots of choice. The only downside is there is a bit of noise from outside but that's only at the weekend and the chandelier rattled in the room as breakfast was above it. There is a pool but there wasn't enough water to swim, it might be due to water shortages in the dry season. Overall an amazing stay! Loads of TV channels, wifi, computers you can use, all in a beautiful building.
Stayed here some time ago and even stayed longer than expected as Sucre was fogged in and the airport was closed.
Great location on a main square and a more than adequate breakfast and he had a very large well furnished colonial room
For Sucre this was an unexpected pleasure
Converted colonial building with rooms facing internal, enclosed courtyards, so no fresh air and lots of noise from staff and guests. I never will understand why so many hotels in South America ruin things by putting glass over internal courtyards...
First room smelt horrible so I asked to change, second was better but still stuffy and musty smelling. The room was large and decorated with traditional furniture and big velvet curtains which kind of reminded me of a classy Bordello from the olde American west. The room was dark inside because the only natural light came from the glass in the doorway which was curtained for intimacy.
Wifi so slow but usable. Bar fridge and large LCD TV were good. Hot water worked well.
Pool has no water in it. Breakfast was quite good.
The old style interiour is what makes this old place special. However, do not expect international standard. Everyhing was ok and the staff is very helpful. However, the hot water system is as old as the place and you either have an abundance of hot water or a cold shower at 8 am - you never know. The breakfast room is very nice and special.
good hotel in front of the main square, confortable rooms and nice breakfast. the room service is very slow but ok.
Staying in the Capital Plaza, Sucre wasa great experience - an unpretentious hotel where one can relax and feel at home.. It is very well -located and very well run. There is a lovely atmosphere where one feels looked after without being fussed over!
It is also excellent value for money.
If you want a good place to stay in Sucre, this is it. I can highly recomment it. Enjoy your stay.
