Staff were nice
Food
Rooms were dirty
Not cleaned every day after staying 3 nights
Lack of hot water and unable to contact hotel personnel from phone in room. Had to boil the kettle to strip wash. Not what you expect even if you only paid a discount price.
Bed mattress terrible and very poor quality bathroom. The breakfast was directly out a chip pan and I left after 1 night . Very disappointed
Everything . I am 62 and they put me up a flight if stairs and last room at the end of a very long corridor
The staff are very friendly and willing to help where needed. The rooms are a good size, and the location is good for both Glenrothes and St Andrews. The bar/restaurant looked good, although I didn't use these facilities.
The rooms are large but devoid of any character. Everything is best described as being a bit grubby. The bathroom was clean but outdated - half the flush button for the toilet was missing, and the sink was cracked. The bath was clean but the grout was a bit grim in places. The main issue really was that for my entire stay (2 nights) there wasn't any hot water. I did mention this to the staff on reception after the first night and they were very apologetic and said that there were 'too many guests for the boiler to cope with', and that I should contact reception if it happened again. Which is a fair response, but given they knew the capacity of the hotel, and clearly it's an ongoing issue, it was extremely disappointing that the next morning there was once again no hot water, and also nobody manning the reception desk to help. Two very cold showers to start my work days were not particularly appreciated.
The bed was comfortable but was two singles pushed together (which in my opinion does not constitute a king size), and the mattresses sagged in the middle so you couldn't really spread out unless you wanted to sleep like a contortoinist. The room was very dusty in parts and I don't think the TV remote has ever had a wipe down - was physically sticky and I decided probably best to avoid.
This could be a really nice place with a bit more care and attention to detail.
Clean Comfy Nice Staff
Nothin it is a Wee bit oot the way that can be a good hing Aswell x
Room size, tv tea/coffee on site restraunt and bar.
Location quite and secluded.
Having to fill kettle using a mug cos sink in bathroom wasnt deep enough to fit kettle bit akward but it was the onlyway. Also lightswitch for bathroom was at entrance door which was almost other side of room.
Friendly staff, good food and breakfast
The walls of the rooms were so thin, you could hear snoring, TV and wake up calls from adjacent rooms.
Reception area lovely
The receptionist was not very professional or apologetic when it was discovered that the hotel had failed to read messages sent on 11.02.26 with specific requests.
The room smelled of an old mop. The toilet had not been cleaned properly and there were remnants of faeces from previous room occupants.
The breakfast was not organised at 7.30am. The staff were friendly but did seem over whelmed with the amount of orders. Tables did not have cutlery. The coffee and pastries ran out within 10 mins and were not restocked. Very unorganised.
Value for money was excellent. Breakfast served just about early enough to have it before competition.
Breakfast was busy and only a few staff to deal with high number of guests. They were friendly, polite and highly professional at all tines. Restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and live music in the evening. Reception staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. Free car park and Wi-Fi are a great bonus. Lovely, clean surroundings. Very enjoyable stay, thank you.
Nothing.
It was clean and and the staff were friendly. Evening meal was good also
Not very well equipped, missing small things like teabags, hand soap, teaspoon. The room was cold. Breakfast in the morning wasn't very well organised
We were on the ground floor and everything was handy
Everything was great
Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and peaceful location
Duvet seemed a bit small for the bed but this was not a major issue!
