Overall we had a great trip, beautiful mountains, relaxing family time, good food and beer.

The facilities need a little TLC but the facilities are there. We had our own communal space which you don't get in a standard hotel room, we swam indoors and outdoors, used the steam room and Jacuzzi, we played pool and games in the reception area, Table tennis and volley ball in the village hall, played golf and tennis and had lovely walks along the trim trail and then there was the rest of Wales.

Its very peacefull and quite and clean.
Its self catering and shops are bit far so best take extra food and grocery.
We stayed in bunglow and they got nice clean kitchen with all the cooking facilities. Rooms are nice but mattress are bit old.View from bunglows are lovely,I ll try to share image. Staff are friendly. All in all 5 stars. Price reflects.

Absolutely Appalling Stay – Avoid at All Costs

We booked Macdonald Plas Talgarth Holiday Resort expecting a relaxing break, but what we got was a nightmare. Our first room was filthy – covered in dust and cobwebs, with spiders in every corner of the bedrooms and moths everywhere. To make matters worse, I even found someone else’s fake eyelashes in the bed, which says a lot about the so-called “cleaning standards.”

We complained immediately and were moved to another room, which was only slightly better. Throughout all of this, the manager, Mark, never once came to meet us, apologise, or offer any form of discount for the huge inconvenience of moving rooms and losing two nights of our holiday – especially disgraceful given that I am heavily pregnant.

Since returning home, we have tried calling Mark for five days straight, leaving messages, but have received no reply. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable.

If you value cleanliness, basic hospitality, and any level of care from management, do yourself a favour and avoid this place entirely.

Good

The rooms and kitchen had a musty smell. The carpets were torn and not clean. The beds were very uncomfortable as the springs were squeaky.

Facilities and accomodation dated. Lovely grounds and location. But loose and missing pavings on steps. Dirty dead moth filled apartments and indoor swimming pool with huge sections of tiles missing.

Such a shame that things feel rough around the edges given the potential of the place.

The property itself is a destination. Great views great proximity to area attractions. Units are large and very spacious. We loved the experience would go back 100%.

Disappointed how dirty bathrooms were. Paint chipped off walls on staircases

All in all good property a bit dated.

Arrived early but luckily I was allowed to check in.
Beautiful scenery in the heart of Wales.
Property a little dated with a few faults but beyond that had a lovely weekend.
The outdoor pool was very busy but expected because of the beautiful weather.
Would definitely recommend.

Staff were lovely, very friendly beautiful place ,clean i was so pleased we stayed in the mansion house it had everything you could possibly need, bed was comfortable, our dog settled ok ,i would definitely recommend it to anyone pools ,tennis etc the bar was lovely and friendly owners food was lovely, nice cosy atmosphere loved it😘

The grounds are very nice and good for families, however the resort seems to have been left to ruin. The villa we stayed in was dirty and hadn't been cleaned, we had to hoover the whole place and the carpets (which are thread bare) were infested with flies and bugs. Checked the beds for bugs but didn't find any thankfully. Unfortunately wouldn't stay again unless renovated to a decent standard.

Property (No9) was good and clean and we very much enjoyed our stay.
However We were told there were only 5 small steps, but the steps were not small, there were eight large ones in total. (If we had both been unable to get up steps we would have found it impossible to check in or both of us to use the spa facilities as the main building has multiple steps which we were not told about).

You have to book 1 hour time slot to use swimming pool and other area of spa. On top of that pool water wasn’t heated for the duration of stay. Outdoor pool is useless in cold weather as it’s not heated pool. There was no communication about it from hotel or hotels.com property description.

Beautiful resort which used to be all timeshare. Good facilities and friendly staff. The accommodation is dated but acceptable

We did enjoyed our stay and the kids enjoyed the swim pool. The bungalow where we stayed was very clean but it could do with updating.
