Excellent stay and we will definitely return.
Pros:

Everything was excellent. I can't believe we haven't found this fantastic place earlier. There was a nice feel to the place as soon as we walked through the door. We didn't eat an evening meal there but the food smelled good. Our room was excellent with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent with the added bonus of a sausage for our dog. The icing on the cake was being able to take our dog everywhere in the hotel we went.

Cons:

Our room was up at the top and stairs were quite steep. The radiator in our room was full of dust/dirt hanging out underneath which we only noticed when turning the heat down.

The hotel was beautiful, with so much character. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was picturesque and easy access to beautiful country walks. The food qas delicious! Would dedinitely recommend.

Most disapointing. Establishment is vastly over rated and as such vastly over priced.
Pros:

Not a lot unfortunately. We were both disappointed from our arrival when we were charged up front for six nights accommodation. The evening meal on our first night was terrible. Fish and chips and Scampi and chips turned out to be a festival of triple fried chefs over indulgence, consisting mainly of fried bits of batter that were inedible. The waiting staff mainly did their best to be efficient as they could but one particular member need constant reminders of what they had been asked for, even to the level of trying to get a pot of tea delivered to the breakfast table.

Cons:

The whole place was disappointing after reading so many 5 start reviews. Yes it was very dog friendly but the food was overpriced and over rated and the decor of the whole establishment was "tired". Our twin room was not very comfortable, rather cold and basic and the over blanket on one bed was moth eaten. Toilet and shower cubicle was cramped and only dimly lit. This establishment is in need of a refurbishment. There is no evening entertainment and guests are a captive audience. Would not recommend persons to stay for more then two nights. The location is approx five miles from Keswick and any walk undertaken would be along a busy A591 main road. Sad to say the establishment is vastly over rated.

I love the location of this hotel as well as everything else aboit it . I've stayed here numerous times and I feel like I'm coming home with every stay 😊 staff are always lovely, the lounge area is relaxing and scenic as are the restaurant views . Breakfast always delicious.. I don't like staying in towns, this is perfect as it's only 10 min from Keswick on a straight road . My son said it reminds him of being in a murder mystery hotel like on TV, somewhere fabulously quaint, with just something about it 😍

A wonderful hotel.
Pros:

Just loved the hotel as soon as we walked in. It looked beautiful and the friendly staff were so very helpful.
The room was clean, large and comfy with the most beautiful view from the window.
The food (breakfast & Dinner) was excellent.
We loved our stay.

Brilliant, restful stay with great views and fab food
Pros:

The MOST dog friendly hotel we’ve ever stayed in, all the staff were so kind to our dogs and provided everything you could need for them. It was access ALL areas which meant they could eat with us. Towels provided at front door to dry them and a dog bath just outside to clean muddy paws!

Cons:

All good - sorry to leave
