Fantastic hotel with a memorable view!
Pros:

Incredible view of the Himalayas from the room and rooftop terrace, lovely staff who looked after us well and gave us great recommendations for hikes!

Best place in Bhaktapur to stay right in the middle of the ancient city! 🫶
Pros:

The property is at the best possible location in all of Bhaktapur. Right next to the 5 story temple and a minute walk from Durbar square, yet on an extremely quiet and peaceful spot.
The hotel is up to top notch standards in cleanliness, and the staff is so warm it feels like family.
We are so so happy with our stay and will definitely come back here!
We extended our stay from one night to a week just because of how much we loved it here!
Pro tip! From the rooftop you can see the most beautiful view of the citys night lights, and you can catch great sunsets from it. On clear days you can even see the langtang range! :)

Pros:

Excellent location, very close to Durbar square. Comfortable and very nice room with view of the temple and hills behind, very clean. Shower was good. Helpful staff.

Cons:

No air conditioner. My room was on the 3rd floor so bit tough with the suitcase.

Golden Gate Hotel
Pros:

We came for 4 restful nights, very tired after a hard month travelling overland from Beijing to Kathmandu in a truck.

We couldn't have picked a nicer place, it was quiet & peaceful.

Great location, just two minutes to both Durbar & Taumadhi Squares. Our room had a small balcony & we looked onto Durbar Square.

The staff were very gracious & kind.

Thank you, we loved Bhaktapur & left feeling refreshed.

The stay at Golden Gate Guest House was wonderful, the room with balcony was perfect!
Pros:

The room was excellent, spacious, light filled, quiet and in perfect location!
The bathroom was good as well and there always was warm water. The staff was caring and always available.

Deceiving pictures
Pros:

Staff was kind

Cons:

Room looked nothing like the pictures, it seemed dirty, the mattresses were so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep much (bending on both side like a banana), no water from the tap above the sink, rust on the water tank, no view (faced another building 2m away).
