Lake Wind Hotel

Ausser der Lage verdient dieses Hotel in keinem Belang vier Sterne. Angefangen von den Abflüssen im Bad, die bei unserem Aufenthalt nicht funktionierten, der Türe, der Balkontüre, die nur mit einer Vorhängekette zu schliessen war, einem Türschloss, wie es in einem billigen Guesthouse zu finden ist, Treppen in baufälligem Zustand und und und. Das Etablissement ist den Preis nicht wert.

Hotellet påstod att våran bokning inte fanns. Att vi skulle betala. Fast dom bekräftat bokningen över 2 månader innan + att vi betalat. Hade vi inte haft med våran inhemska vän som pratade med manager så vet jag inte hur det gått. Rummet var sen inte vad vi betalat för!! Det var smutsigt, gammalt hår i duschen. Fullt med myror och spindlar! Fläckar på matthandukarna på golvet och även duschhandukarna och fanns ingen handduk att torka händerna på efter dusch!

Bokade och betalade för ett rum med 2 dubbelsängar och 2 enkelsängar men det saknades 1 dubbelsäng i vårat rum!

Gick inte heller att få mat på hotellet för kocken var ledig. Inget som hade framgått innan & vi räknade med mat efter en bilresa på 11 timmar.

First, this is not a 4 star hotel not even closed to a motel. Even its name is not Lake Wind Hotel but Lake Wind Resort. There is no services whatsoever, and room is at horrible condition. Can’t believe I paid $100 usd for this crap. Checked out the pics with direct water and half dead cockroach in our room. Thank you hotels.com for listing this as a 4 star - I won’t trust your filter anymore. This is the worth place among all my stays in 4/5 hotels in Sri Lanka. Avoid at all costs!!!

Alle ønsker blev imødekommet - og det havde selv forbedret morgenmadspakke til safari hvor vi blev afhentet kl 5 om morgenen.
Godt værelse med altan - der var dog en del myg ved søen om aftenen.
Eneste ulempe var at aircondition begyndte at lække vand ned i kuffert med tøj - og det var ikke første gang ifølge fugtspor på væggen

サファリのために利用。午前5時出発は大変でしたが、ラッキーなことにレオパード3頭が目の前を横切ったので、朝食抜きも忘れるほどでした。朝食はランチボックスに用意してくれます。私達は冷蔵庫に入れて置き、帰ってからいただきました。レセプションの女性が良かったです。私達の忘れ物をしっかり保管して、戻った時に笑顔で返してくれました。ロケーションは最高でした。中国人の団体が多かったようです。

DO NOT BOOK ONLINE. Their customer service was just horrible, the worst I've ever seen at a hotel. They did not have 2 rooms for me that I booked online and paid 3 weeks prior to the check-in date. I arrived at the hotel around 7 PM and they told me they were fully booked. The next day was a national holiday, and it was not easy to find a decent hotel at that time of the day.

They offered to book a different hotel that I didn't even know about, but refused to give me a refund. I told them I'd go to a different hotel with similar ratings, but they could not guarantee that, and they didn't want to spend more than what I paid either. Since it was getting late, I agreed to go to a different hotel they booked. We drove another 5 miles to get to this hotel, and it was in pretty bad condition. There were renovations going on at the front, we checked the rooms and they were not even ready. Bathrooms were dirty and there were no clean bedsheets. We refused to stay there and went back to Lake Wind again to complain.

I was really frustrated at that point, and they simply did not take any responsibility for how they handled the situation. The lady at the front desk and another guy were very rude in the way they talked. They just wanted to get rid of me by giving me a refund, and told me they had to attend to other "guests". They did not care about all the hassle I had to go through. I finally had to take the refund and go find a different place to stay which took me 2 more hours.

We arrived in the middle of a wedding celebration with extremely loud music so we're unable to use the facilities or stay in our room. Staff were very apologetic but were not able to refund our money. They kindly offered us a boat trip and drinks so we could have some peace and quiet till 4pm when the celebration was due to end. Apart from that the room was fine. Perhaps the hosts could put a note on the booking site when events have been booked to assist guests when choosing their hotel.

Nice hotel, grand entrance, staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nice with excellent view of the lake. Could even get into the lake for a swim from out of the back of the hotel if you really wanted. Pool was quite small and dirty. Unfortunately when we were staying, there were a group of people staying who were having a private party like a stag do with very loud music that went on until quite late and taking over the decking outside overlooking the lake which meant we had to have dinner inside (not that bad due to all the flying insects) but was loud to have dinner, could not really hear ourselves think. Food was very good, we had the buffet that was on offer. Sent us off with breakfast in the morning as we were going on a safari early which was very good but if you're only there to go on Yala safari its fine. Not really a lot around the hotel, walk into Tissa centre takes around 30 minutes.

One of my all time favorite hotels. The staff are very friendly. The hotel rooms offer such a beautiful view of the lake just a few metres away. I love waking up early to see the sunrise above the lake asks the quiet evening serenity of the landscape. This hotel is a wonderful place for a get away for peace and rest and a refreshing break from my busy schedule. Feels like my 2nd home. Will definitely come back again.

This has been my favorite hotel in the South of Sri Lanka for the last 6 years. I always stay at this hotel when I visit Sri Lanka. Feels like home :)

Very reasonably priced hotel with a lovely view of the lake. Great friendly staff and the food was great.

The hotel is lovely with good views of lake however there isn’t much within the area there’s very few restaurants only worth coming for one night to go to Yala sarfari

Manager was very pleasant, want to satisfy his customers. Trying to do his best.
