I don’t usually write reviews, but this stay really deserves one. I booked this place based on what people said about the owner, Pascal—and honestly, every single review was spot on.

He’s incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful without ever feeling over the top. From the moment I arrived, everything just felt easy and comfortable.

You can tell he truly cares about his guests, not just running a business. It’s rare to come across hosts like this, and it really made the whole experience that much better.

If you’re staying in Kampot, I’d definitely recommend this place.

L’adresse de charme à Kampot. La chambre était décorée avec beaucoup de goût tout comme le reste de l’établissement. La situation est très centrale. Le propriétaire est aux petits soins. La plantation de poivre est très proche comme les marais salants.

The breakfast was very good and the location was very central, allowing for easy access to the places we wished to visit. The owner/host was gracious, thoughtful, and flexible. We felt that we were in a home rather than a hotel, while afforded all the privacy we wished.

Clean, beautifully designed and stylish interior, comfortable bed. The hotel is located in the center, with many cafes and restaurants nearby. Very friendly and pleasant staff.

Das schönste und am geschmackvollsten eingerichtete Hotel, das wir in Kambodscha hatten! Ein ästhetischer Traum! Jeder Raum ist individuell gestaltet, alle mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Die Besitzer sind sehr aufmerksam, kümmern sich um alle Anfragen und das Frühstück mit selbstgemachter Marmelade und Früchten aus dem eigenen Garten ist ausgesprochen lecker. Dank der Lage mitten im Zentrum ist alles fussläufig erreichbar.

L'hôtel est joli et décoré avec goût. C'est propre et confortable.
Les propriétaires sont très disponibles et aidants. Ils parlent parfaitement français. A notre arrivée, ils nous ont indiqué les activités à réaliser dans les alentours, ils m'ont aidée à réserver mes tickets de bateau pour notre prochaine étape et ont été d'une grande aide lors de l'oubli de mon téléphone à l'hôtel lorsque nous avons quitté Kampot.
L'hôtel est situé en plein centre près de la vie nocturne, mais pas de bruit dans al chambre le soir, c'est bien isolé.
Je recommande à 100%!

Accueil top par l’équipe de Pascal avec assistance pour organiser au mieux notre court séjour.
La mise en valeur de ce bâtiment historique coloniale est superbe, et la déco top ! On se sent comme à la maison. La chambre Khmer est sublime et confortable.
Si je reviens à Kampot, je résiderai à la Java Bleue

I stayed three nights at Hotel La Java Bleue in the Khmer-themed room, which featured original artwork by owner Pascal Prom depicting a classical Apsara dancer.

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Kampot’s colonial heritage centre — ideal if you want to experience the town itself rather than stay out at a resort.

The room was beautifully curated — tasteful, not overdone — with a real nod to heritage. Well appointed with tea and coffee facilities, a spacious bathroom, and the added practicality of a separate toilet.

The building is a lovingly restored French colonial property, and the artistic detail throughout is exceptional — subtle hand-painted touches, bespoke furnishings, and antique pieces.

Cleanliness was outstanding, especially considering the nature of a heritage building — daily housekeeping was immaculate.

Breakfast was simple but very well done — French pastries, tropical fruit, good coffee, and homemade preserves, served on the street-side terrace.

The staff were warm and attentive without being intrusive. Thiero in particular was charming and welcoming, making it feel more like staying in a private home than a hotel.

Security is well handled — guests are given a key to the front door, which adds to the relaxed, homely atmosphere.

U n petit hôtel décoré avec raffinement et propreté! L'accueil et le personnel est attentionné! Prise en compte des demandes spécifiques pour le petit déjeuner. En plein centre-ville et donc accès à tout à pied! Excellent rapport qualité/prix; nous le recommandons fortement!

Pascal, Franco-Khmer, est une hôte incroyable toujours à votre service. Il a su décorer cette ancienne maison coloniale de main de maître après l'avoir complètement restaurée. Situé au coeur de Kampot, La Java Bleue est un lieu unique où chaque chambre à son thème décoratif et pour moi le plus beau de la ville.
