Дурацкие выключатели света в номере. Какие то неудобные. И воды не поставили в номер. Обычно всегда пару бутылочек дают попить. Но это мелочи конечно
We stayed at Maywood Hotel, sister hotel to Hotel Sapphire (which had been closed by the Municipality prior to our arrival).
Rooms are very small but clean and comfortable.
Includes a good buffet breakfast.
Really good location, walkable to River, spice markets, Blue and pink mosque and The Grand Bazaar.
Small rooms, otherwise everything else OK. Would have like to stay at Hotel Sapphire (not Maywood Hotel) which came recommended.
We actually ended up at Maywood hotel, after hotel Sapphire sent us there due to some issues with their tourist licence.
We ended up with two single beds, worked ok for a couple of days. Internet speed quite fast.

Sapphire was closed due to the formal issues and they moved us to Maywood hotel and that was an amazing hotel with all the services starting from rooms with breakfast and all the staff, especially Mr. Ahmed, he was very helpful and pleasant.
Location is amazing, very near to Train station, all main busy areas are near to the hotel you can enjoy walking in street nearby.
The location was perfect. Staff was extremely polite and helpful. We were given a quieter rooms and next to each other which was nice. Rooms were big and well equipped.

Even though we booked Hotel Sapphire, this review is for Hotel Maywood where our reservation was transferred due to the municipality closing down Hotel Sapphire. This is what we were told. We accepted the transfer and we were happy with the hotel. It is very well located on a pedestrian street in the historical centre. We walked to Topkapi, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, also to Cistern Basilica. The Grand Bazar is within walking distance too.
Our rooms were in the new wing. The beds were very comfortable with nice clean bed linen. The room was very clean. We liked the big bathroom and big shower area.
The breakfast was varied, with a lot of local tasty dishes. Not great choice of fruit, but there were some apples and oranges or grapefruit. It was nice that they had someone who made omelettes on the spot.
Since they do not eat pork, the choice of ham was weird looking, I haven't tried it.
We especially liked the staff. They were always smiling and chatting with us at the reception, they gave us maps and helpful tips. A big thank you to them!
Extra tip. If you go to Istanbul, please visit the Asian side too. We liked it a lot, it is cheaper, nicer and so vibrant. Loved the terraces and restaurants there.
The only negative thing is that the coffee was instant, but the tea was very good.
At first we were about to stay at the hotel Sapphire but we were transferred to the Maywood hotel (of the same owner)
The Maywood hotel was great, we loved it! It was clean and cozy. Breakfast was included in the price and it was a good breakfast. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. I got sick while staying there and they helped me with finding the ride to the hospital. The location is great as well and everything we wanted to visit was 15-30 minutes by foot.
We even got a goodbye gift from the staff and we loved it :)
I would definitely book this hotel again!
The only downside is that the room we were in was looking at some ventilation (not sure what it is) so it was really noisy when we open the window but to be honest everything else was perfect that this couldnt ruin my stay
