INCREDIBLE VIEW! The corner, floor to ceiling views of the water was beautiful! Hotel staff was exceptional! Conversations breakfast was also a delight!
Beautiful small property at an incredible location with amazing room views near Pike Place Market. Higher costs however the rooms were very nice and the food and beverage were terrific. Overall the staff was very responsive and welcoming.
Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Valet was great as well. The concierge Chuck helped my husband and I with transportation to cruise terminal - he assured my concerns with booking a private car. Clean hotel. Really good food in 1st floor restaurant.
Great location not far from the waterfront and main sights in downtown Seattle. Really enjoyed the view from the rooftop bar.
Terrible stay. We asked for early check‑in and were told to come at 12, then waited hours with no update. At 4 PM we went back despite receiving no calls or messages, and they gave pointless excuses before putting us in the worst room. The AC was old, loud, and made strange noises all week. Overall a horrible experience.
The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout our stay. The staff seemed genuinely interested in helping us and consistently went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and responsive, which made the experience feel personal rather than transactional. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would be happy to stay here again and recommend it to others.
Wonderfull location and wonderful stay
The location near the pier and Pikes Market is unbeatable and their service is unmatched! I went during FIFA World Cup so places were busier than usual, however, the hotel was a great place for breakfast and dinner.
This place is falls very short of the semi-luxury category they're trying to put themselves into. The 'signature scent' of the lobby is a strong off-putting cologne. So many things in the room were disappointing. The mattress was hard and very uncomfortable for both me & my husband, and my husband prefers firm mattresses, so for him to be uncomfortable is very telling. The pillows were terrible. They were feather pillows, but not supportive, so when we rested our heads on them, our heads went straight through the feathers all the way to the mattress. There were a couple of lumpy pillows in the room too, but the lumpy pillows felt as though there were golf ball-sized chunks on the inside. I ended up choosing the lesser of the two evils and slept on the golf ball-sized lumps so that my head had some support. The fan in the bathroom did not work, so there was zero airflow out of the room. The plug-in cord to the mirror in the bathroom (visible while washing hands, brushing teeth, etc) had a thick layer of dust on it. The A/C unit in the room rattled every time it turned on and rattled until it turned off. The faux wood floor was wearing away. I do have to give props to housekeeping who responded within single digit minutes to a request for extra towels, to valet service for being speedy, and for the front desk for checking on us via text message. But as far as the state of the room, I would never stay at this hotel again, nor recommend it to friends.
The hotel is very nice and its location also the restaurant had some great food! I asked if there were any room upgrades available for the one night I was staying but told no there wasn’t. Checking online with my sister whom I was visiting seen plenty seen room upgrades that were available to book for the same night. Never understood why there is never an offer for room upgrades being a Discoverist card holder.
I could hear someone running on a treadmill in the morning and evening through the walls.
Central location to tourist attractions/amenities. Esthetically pleasing enough. Valet services. Attendants were very friendly, as were front desk staff. Rooms average hotel rooms, comfortable beds, rainfall shower (can't change pressure settings). Because its a down town hotel, the noise of the traffic going by is very loud. I felt the space, albeit "luxury" was still just a hotel and offered guest only complimentary coffee in the mornings. For the cost of the stay, some kind of discount for on-site restaurants might have lessened the blow of the inflated holiday weekend/FIFA events costs. Not sure I would choose this hotel, cost considered. I will say, if you have the money, its a central location only. Desk and valet staff were very 3 and helpful but the price of the room per night was amazingly inflated.
I stayed at this hotel during the FIFA World Cup and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The air conditioning went out during our stay, and instead of providing a real solution or moving us to another room, the staff simply gave us a fan. With the hotel full for the World Cup and the warm weather, this was unacceptable.
The service was terrible, and there was no urgency to resolve the issue. We ended up checking out and moved to the Charter by Hilton, where we had an excellent stay and were treated much better.
To make it worse, instead of crediting us for the bad stay and the inconvenience, this hotel still charged us. Based on this experience, I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.
Very clean and modern hotel. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Location is very close to Pike Place Market. Would stay here again.
Excellent rooftop bar to add to the World Cup experience in Seattle. Location next to Pikes Place was second to none. Try Kells Pub around the block. Beds were extremely comfortable.
I have a category 1-7 free night and even if this hotel is only a category 5, we chose to stay here at Thompson because of it’s service and top tier hospitality. The rooms with waterview is spectacular so I highly recommend spending extra for an upgrade. My partner and especially my pug enjoyed our stay. Will make it an annual getaway to relax and explore the city. Special thanks to Halit and Abbie for making our stay memorable! We appreciate all your hard work and dedication to make sure every guest walks out happy and want to come back!
We had a wonderful stay at the Thompson Seattle from June 3–7. The hotel’s location is fantastic—just a short walk to Pike Place Market, where we happily spent an entire day, and only a quick Uber ride to the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass. It’s also conveniently close to Target, CVS, an Asian grocery store, and plenty of restaurants. As an added bonus, our Boeing and Best of Seattle tours picked us up right at the hotel.
A special thank you to Concierge Chuck Watts, who truly made our trip stress-free and memorable. He arranged our sunset cruise, booked our Boeing and city tours, surprised us with sweet treats in our room for our anniversary, and shared excellent recommendations that helped us make the most of our time. Since walking long distances is a challenge for us, his planning made sightseeing so much easier.
We also want to recognize Bella and Jeff at breakfast. They were always warm, welcoming, and friendly, taking the time to chat with us each morning and making us feel like valued guests.
The outstanding service and perfect location made this an unforgettable stay. We would gladly stay here again!
Best location, close to pikes and downtown. Room 1111 was amazing. staff and valet were great. Worth it to pay to upgrade to a room with a view.
Tried booking a room anywhere in Seattle with no luck. Finally found the Thompson and they had a room! We learned shortly afterwards that FIFA was going to be in town, Luckily, turned out to be the best room in town! We were glad we had to “settle” on the Thompson. If we come back to Seattle, we will definitely stay here again! Very highly recommended.
They're the best. So kind and helpful ☺️
