Staying here was one of the best decisions of my life :)
Pros:

One of the coolest places I have ever stayed, just stunning. The rooms are spacious and comfy, and you are in a fortress!!!! A fortress!!!! Your inner child is having the time of its life. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. 4 elevators up are no big deal, takes 8 minutes and stunning views from each.

Cons:

Nothing! It is a fortress built from 1830 to 1838! You get to sleep in a spot that pissed Napoleon off so badly he razed the previous fortress to the ground.

Der Aufenthalt im Hotel Cavour ist ein außergewöhnliches Erlebnis
Pros:

Die Lage ist einzigartig, die ‚Anreise’ außergewöhnlich und auch die alte Straße durch das Dorf ist sehenswert. In der Casa Ciuca kann man sehr gut essen.

Prachtig hotel in het fort, erg indrukwekkend
Pros:

Schitterende locatie, zo bijzonder om in een fort te overnachten. Na 18 uur zelf toegang tot de liften om naar boven te gaan. Zeer bijzonder; “ alleen” in dat fort.
Goed ontbijt, schuin tegenover het fort in een restaurant.

Prachtige locatie om te verblijven.
Pros:

Het is uitzonderlijk om in zo'n historisch fort te kunnen verblijven. We hadden de Junior suite met een klein balkon met een prachtig uitzicht. Alles was kraaknet, op de kamer maar ook in de rest van het gebouw. Het ontbijt was vrij eenvoudig maar lekker, steeds met een eitje naar keuze erbij voor wie dat wilde. We zijn nog nooit in een hotel geweest waar we zo goed verdergeholpen werden indien we vragen hadden. Cinzia aan de receptie deed dat met enorm veel overgave. Het naar boven en beneden gaan met de liften nam wel wat tijd in beslag maar dat viel al bij al nog goed mee en onderweg kon je genieten van prachtige uitzichten op het dal en de bergen. We hadden gratis elektrische fietsen ter beschikking en het gratis parkeren was ook een troef. Kortom : dit hotel is beslist een aanrader.

Deux journées inoubliables, du village au sommet de la forteresse. Y dormir une nuit aussi.
Pros:

Un établissement exceptionnel dans un site hors normes : une forteresse réaménagée après la destruction ordonnée par Napoléon en 1800. L'hôtel Cavour est accessible après avoir emprunté quatre ascenseurs panoramiques. Les chambres d'officiers sont d'une calme monacal, 460 mètres au-dessus du village. Petit déjeuner et déjeuner excellents. Et le fort de Dard accueille trois musées étonnants à ne pas manquer : le Musée des Alpes, celui des Prisons et Le Ferdinand, fortifications et frontières, qui retracent un voyage immersif sur l'histoire, la vie de la région et la culture locale trans-frontières. A ne pas rater.
