Not great had to wait in the rain to get in a back entrance for dinner and breakfast as husband disabled had to pad rubbish bags and beer kegs and go through empty dark rooms to get to breakfast .Not a four star experience .Wrote to complain no answer .
Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. We stayed in the Mews and the rooms were spotless and very comfortable. We had drinks at the bar such which was well attended and had a lovely atmosphere.
There was work being carried out whilst new lodges are being built, directly in front of the Mews. We were initially worried about the noise level when we arrived (3pm on a Friday) however the work stopped around 4pm and we had no issues. It would have been good to know in advance that this was going on particularly as the EV chargers are within that area and as a result were not available during our stay.
Room so lovely cosy and clean. Breakfast was brilliant. Great facilities. Lovely staff.

Overall, the hotel was lovely — very cosy and welcoming. The staff were great, especially Fiona on reception. She was chatty, warm and really helpful, kept me right with where to eat and the timings. It felt like a proper family-run place, not corporate at all, which I really liked.
The three lads in the bar/restaurant were first class as well — very efficient but still had time to chat away to guests, which makes all the difference.
I’m 65 and no spring chicken, but I did notice most of my fellow residents seemed quite a bit older than me! Nothing wrong with that at all — I was just surprised at how many of us there were.
Breakfast was spot on , hot breakfast from kitchen perfect piping hot , no look warm buffet here , staff were spot on and the self serve starters toast tea was perfect spotlessly clean the entire place .
When I arrived quite late, I understand there were seven rooms still available. I was allocated Room 3 at the back, overlooking the building works. The kitchen fan went on late at night and again early in the morning. The room was very warm, so I had the window open and turned the heating off. The workmen started early — not building noise, but standing chatting right outside my window.
It’s not a massive issue, or I would have raised it at the time, but as you asked for feedback, I did wonder whether there might have been a quieter room available out of the seven remaining?
Location and cleanliness
Nothing. The experience was first class
The original style of the property. Location.
Small and cozy feel to it.

Nothing at all
We went on the deal which gave you free dinner first night plus glass of prosecco, food was excellent, staff were excellent. We stayed in a Mews rom our friends in a lodge. Both excellent, breakfast included both days. It was agreat break at the Piersland. Third time there, never let us down.
Excellent food, one of my most favourite places to eat in Scotland! Staff are friendly and attentive.
We had an overnight stay here as a family (5 adults). We had taken 3 of the smaller rooms in the main house that were more than adequate and tastefully decorated. The house and grounds were lovely, and the hotel is in an ideal location for a wander into Troon. The staff were all really helpful. We had dinner and breakfast included in our room rate, and the food was delicious. We’d definitely return.
Had a lovely 2 night stay here recently. Food is excellent, rooms very comfortable, staff helpful and professional, and the public areas are very convivial.
Unfortunately I can't rate it 5 stars because there was some miscommunication between the front desk and the restaurant staff, and my husband didn't get his Happy Birthday decorated plate at dinner as I'd been led to believe. I was too embarrassed to ask the staff about this as it was supposed to be a surprise for my husband.
Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay and I'd recommend the hotel to anyone.
We celebrated our wedding at Piersland which included the wedding service and reception. Prior to the big day the attention to detail by Martin and the team was first class. On the day itself everything went according to plan. The venue, quality of food, and attention and service by the staff were excellent. We would thoroghly recommend Piersland as a wedding venue and look forward to our visit next year (as part of the wedding package). Thank you for helping to make out wedding day so special.
We were a party of 4 sharing 2 mews cottages. The cottages were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed. Coffee & tea facilities, bottled water, biscuits. Flat screen tvs, WiFi, plenty of sockets for charging phones etc. Shower room was modern and spotless with walk in shower and toiletries provided. The main building is beautiful with huge fireplaces, beautiful wood panels and carvings. Each public room was beautiful. You could not fault the breakfast. There was everything you could ever want in the cold buffet and an excellent choice of hot dishes which were served by the waiting staff who were all friendly and helpful. In fact the entire staff were helpful, efficient, polite and friendly. I honestly don’t think I have stayed in a nicer
and better run hotel.
Nothing.
Nice old house. Well looked after. Friendly staff. Good food.
It was a lovely hotel.
Only thing was the shower wasn’t very powerful
