Fabulous resort close to Pompeii, peaceful, comfortable, with godd winey and restaurant
Pros:

Fabulous, tranquil setting near the archaeological site of Pompeii. Very comfortable, immaculately clean guest rooms with excellent air conditioning (very needed this June). Friendly, helpful staff. We dined in the winery restaurant and very much enjoyed our meals and trying their wines. The resort has a lovely swimming pool with a great view of Mt Vesuvius. There are a farm, the opportunity to take horseback riding lessons, and wine tasting sessions. This was a perfect base for exploring Pompeii, Naples, and Campania, with plenty for families to do on site.

Cons:

We had no issues at all.

Bosco is a sanctuary near ancient Pompei.
Pros:

The resort hotel Bosco de Medici is a unique property. Created on the land of a family farm within the city of Pompeii, it comprises the resort, with about a dozen motel style ground floor rooms, many with their own little courtyards, a large garden area with fruit trees and seating outside those rooms, a beautiful pool with a view of Mount Vesuvius, a reception area and a breakfast room. The property also contains a restaurant, which caters many events as well as providing supper for hotel guests and wine tasting lunches, a horse stable with three different riding rings, where equitation is taught, a vineyard and a wedding venue.
The resort feels like a sanctuary within the gritty town of Pompeii. It is possible to walk to the ancient site in about 25 minutes, and it is a safe walk, but the street to the town plaza is scruffy and then the street from the town plaza to the site is filled with tourist restaurants and shops. The resort actually abuts the property of the archaeological site, but there are only three entrances to ancient Pompeii, and none are nearby.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Good parking on site.
