Such a great location in the old town of Quito. The staff are all so welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were fantastic and all food freshly prepared. The views from the Rooftop eatery is spectacular. There are lovely restaurants close by and a large supermarket is also very close.
I would recommend Friends Hotel and Rooftop if you are looking for authentic Ecuadorian accommodation that is very clean and tidy. I really enjoyed my stay in Quito.
I loved this place. The location is fantastic - a few minutes and you are in the centre of the old town. You feel this is a street where the locals live and shop. You need to appreciate it is a 3 star hotel, no lift and the rooms are comfortable but not flashy.
The staff are very friendly with great English. The rooftop breakfast was great. This area can used to have a drink in the evening and enjoy the great view. There is also a common area on the ground floor.
I especially liked our room layout as I was staying with my sister and there were 2 bedrooms with seperate ensuites and a small lounge.

Everything was very nice.Location perfect,not too busy street but still very close to every attraction. Brrakfast very good at the rooftop with nice view. Room very big for two of us. Very value of money and not forget the reception ( the lady ) explain everything when check in. 100% recommended for stay while visiting Quito

After sunset the streets are fairly empty, but some food options exist in close proximity.
This was a fantastic place to stay in Quito. Within walking distance of A LOT and they are very accommodating. The breakfast is also amazing! We loved it here.
Friends Hotel and Rooftop provides an authentic experience with a wonderful Ecuadorian welcome . It’s a true boutique hotel with steep stairs but the staff helped carry my luggage . The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious with wonderful views from your breakfast table .The staff were very helpful. The hotel is in the historic area of Quito .
Centrally located in historical old town section of Quito. Great location to explore that area. Friendly, helpful staff and good breakfast. Because it’s in the heart of the city, I recommend ear plugs or noise canceling device if you are a light sleeper.
Arrived in to Quito at 1am and so arrived at the hotel approx 1:30am. We were greeted with a friendly smile and great service even at this time of the morning. Due this, we slept in and were a little late to breakfast so we just asked for a coffee but they were still kind enough to make us a full breakfast! It was. It was very fresh and served with a smile. We are staying a few nights here on both ends of our trip to the Galapagos so already feel like we made a great choice and looking forward to the rest of our time staying with Friends Hotel and Rooftop!
Wonderful and accommodating staff!! We arrived in the early morning, woke up late, and missed breakfast hours. When we went to the dining area to grab some coffee, the kitchen staff was so kind and offered to prepare breakfast for us from scratch. And it was plentiful!! It’s only our first day here and already we’re enjoying our experience.
Also, everything about this hotel is quaint, cozy, and comfortable.
