Excellent location so very close to the ferry terminal and there is a very secure parking facility directly opposite the hotel.
As we have a classic car which I’m a bit precious about this was of great importance to me.
Everything was wonderful
Fascinating place converting from club to hotel with some great spaces and simple but very comfortable accommodation.
Not all that clear about parking arrangements
it was abit dated
Great old fashioned hotel
Breakfast in the morning
The bar area
Proximity to Gun Wharf
Room was really warm, only had a small portable fan to attempt to cool the room temperature.
Very smart and welcoming
Parking not enough
It’s in a brilliant location, room was really well appointed with plug sockets next to the bed etc. Really couldn’t fault anything
Room was spacious. Staff were excellent.
Breakfast was not particularly hot and, had to wait for things that had run out.
Close proximity to the waterfront.
Cold tap ran hot. Room unbearably hot and the small desk fan didn’t make a dent. Very dated rooms/decor/furnishings.
Room OK although 1 curtain rail loose. Good breakfast.
We arrived late - after 11.00pm to find a gate blocking the entrance to the car park. Talking to the receptionist, she couldn't offer an explanation, but sold us an on street permit. We subsequently discovered the gate would have opened allowing access if we'd approached it with our car - a fact not very clear from the signage after a day's driving across France and a 6 hour ferry crossing. I was unhappy about parking on the street with the car full of holiday luggage, so the following morning moved it into the hotel's 'overflow' car park, where to finish our visit off nicely, the 'discount' bar code supplied did not work!
Lovely, large, ensuite double room on first floor of large hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. A 5-8 minute walk to and from the historic Portsmouth Dockyeard and Portsmouth Harbour train station. Hotel has a large restaurant, serving evening meals until 9 pm (21:00) and is where breakfast is held, daily, from 7 to 10 am (07:00-10:00).
Room has carpet on floor. Standard double bed with bed steets, pillows, etc. Wardrobe, desk with kettle and free tea/coffee, sugar and milk sashays. Rubbish bins in room and bathroom. Good shower in bathrom, hand and bath towels in included in room price. Good, free WiFi, easy log-in.
I had a tasty meal in the restaurant and had the buffet breakfast for UK£8. Boiled eggs, cireals, yogurt, toast (butter and/or jam), juices, tea/coffee. There are cooked breakfast options for UK£16. Stairs and lift/elevator to all floors.
Heavy room door. Very large lobby, easy to get lost/confused. Steps to entrance, I think. Some people may find it a little hard to locate.
Location perfect for shopping at Gunwharf Quays and also visiting the historic dockyard
No air conditioning in the rooms. Very hot and stuffy
Alles oke.
Parkeren rondom het hotel valt tegen, receptie heeft verzuimd te vertellen dat er een korting is in de parkeergarage aan de andere kant van de weg. Jammer.
