Excellent!
This was a lovely place to stay and we would go back. Our room was very clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed.
Corner balcony room overlooking the waterfront and docks was a treat. Very clean and comfortable. Cooling and heating worked well.
Access to the building worked well, very secure to residents only.
With limited restaurant hours (September) it is important to be stocked with a bit of food and can use the cafe across the road to stock up. There is a microwave in the lobby to heat up your own food.
It's close to trails but not to shopping and amenities, it was perfect for us but be prepared before you go.
We love staying at the resort and will stay again. Highly recommend this option for anyone staying on Vancouver Island. We stayed here and drove into Tofino for the day. Very accessible and the views of the lake are beautiful. Love that there were paddle boards and kayaks available for use. The water was so clear.
Great little boutique hotel, location is remote but rooms are fabulous and lake front location is amazing.
Wonderful time.
We went when there wasn’t much happening, so there wasn’t anything else open.
Only one person working ( sorta a night staff thing ) where the next morning no one would be staffed so you drop off your keys )
Which was fine cause it was only a stay the night thing.
Bit of drive to get. But it’s great for a longer stay, and during summer it’s probably way better for those looking for quite get away.
Plus it’s pet friendly.
Nice little spot.
We arrived at 3.50pm and although the sign on the door said reception was manned between 2and 10pm the door was locked. I called the reception and she abruptly told me check in was at 4pm. Once we actually got to check in 10 minutes later she was very unfriendly!
We then realised that the restaurant/bar was closed so we had to drive back 15km into town for food. Very disappointed and would not return.
Just paradise
The room itself was great, wonderful view comfortable, spacious and clean. The front desk was staffed for very limited hours during the day, the hallway outside our room was like a sauna, the restaurant while looking nice the food was brutal - like really brutal, my pasta had as many pieces of purple onion as noodles and four prawns, my partners meal was even worse, the whole place had a vibe that the owner had lost interest in it, maybe abandoned it to staff who didn't care.
Again the room itself was great, but there is nothing else around so you will be driving into Port Alberni to eat if you want to enjoy your meals.
Great place but a bit away from conveniences. However might be great in summer.
I loved the lakeside setting and the morning of canoeing that was available to guests. It was very tidy and all around a beautiful place to stay.
Had a family emergency and couldn’t stay the night. The receptionist was extremely rude and insensitive. I didn’t even ask for a refund. I simply informed her I needed to check out as my wife had suffered a very serious injury and she just straight up told me I wouldn’t get a refund. Zero human decency.
On top of that, when I checked in she met me with what felt like racial micoagressions. I gave her my status card as ID which she scrutinized and then her entire mood shifted. She was rude and made comments about her “having to take my word that I was who I said I was” because the room was already paid. Yes, I know. I paid for it.
Horrible, terrible experience. They did offer me credit afterward but I never intend on staying there again.
Great rooms updated clean and well appointed.
We loved Sproat Lake Landing. Such a beautiful property! The room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and came with a spectacular lake view. Check in was easy and staff were friendly and helpful. We also had a lovely dinner in the dining room. Food and service were outstanding. We would love to come back and enjoy this property again.
We only had one night at the Sproat Lake Landing Resort. We wish we had more time and felt well enough to enjoy the full experience. The staff was warm and helpful. The views of the lake and mountain were unbelievable. We did have to swim in the lake but not for kayaking or paddleboarding. The rooms were very nice and comfortable with an excellent shower and closet space. We were late to eat dinner, so we can't really provide an accurate review of the restaurant, but it was certainly an excellent surroundings and staff. The menu was limited by the time we ate. They are not open every night of the week. This is a smallish hotel, so there aren't a ton of rooms, but all are very nice. Due to the size parking is easily available and close to your room.
Sproat Lake Landing was very peaceful with a beautiful view of the lake. I love that we were able to take the kayak and canoe’s out whenever we wanted without any extra charge. The restaurant was nice and we enjoy the food and lake view from the patio. The staff were very kind and friendly when we checked in.
Room was great and being able to go out and kayak was awesome. Clean and great halfway point between Vancouver and Tofino.
