The Hilton Motel in Hilton Beach was clean ,comphy and reasonable
Very Nice view of the harbour, all. Rooms face into waterfront. Nice restaurant with patio, good food. Would go there again.
The hotel is very cute. The area the hotel in is really nice. I would have liked more time to explore.
Asked for room on main floor, they said no! Didn't understand why not since only a couple of rooms were rented. Towels were terrible, they looked dirty dry, then when they were wet they looked worse. Should only use white towels so they look clean and fresh, second day received 3 different colors, white-beige and light blue.
Nobody there when you want to check out. Not sure until their own restaurant will be open.
Nice hotel on Saint Joseph Island.
Need to sign in through the bar/cafe so adjust your your check in accordingly because of closing time of restaurant.
Very accommodating. I made the reservation online and couldn't tell what floor the room was on. The room was on the second floor. I have problems with stairs and they were willing to change room to a first floor room.
The room has a slider that went to a patio then grass area. The marina is a simple walk.
The hotel is near Fort St. Joseph. It was interesting going there and learning about the War of 1812 from our enemy's (English) point of view. Always knew it from the US side.
Absolutely wonderful
Hotel said they did receive the booking from hotels.com....very disorganized. This place needs a serious up-date and a proper cleaning
This is an older hotel but it is maintained and clean. The manager was friendly, attentive, quick to respond, very professional and pleasant to deal with. Our bathroom toilet was plugged and overflowed. The manager did her best to use a plunger. She did managed to get it to release and flush the deposit but shortly afterwards it once again would not flush and overflowed unto the floor. The local plumber was not available and so we had a room with no toilet for our family and no other rooms were available. We were left with no alternative but to urinate in the bathtub. We had to wait until the following morning to leave the island, drive to the highway, locate an open restaurant and pay for breakfast so we could use the bathroom. Not quite the experience we were looking for while on vacation but as they say happens!
Very outdated. Clean but very dark. Arrived for check in and door was locked. We actually had to go around the building looking . Rooms were cold so they did not prepare for our arrival. Dining room was very cold . Left Coates on while we eat. Rooms looked like they vould use some work but they were very clean.
I was very happy with all while we stayed at this motel
We only stayed one night. However we are very familiar with the area. Winter activities such as outdoor ice skating, cross country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, etc. Summer, all the water sports, biking, walking/hiking,etc are plentiful.
Quick one-night stay on long drive across Ontario. Definitely worth going to Hilton Beach - beautiful water views, friendly staff and gorgeous area. Would definitely go back.
Summer is their busy time, so they are semi-shut down during the week in the fall. There is a lovely restaurant in the building (limited hours in the fall during the week) and Natalie is a great cook. The restaurant wasn't supposed to be open until the weekend, but she took our order and we had an amazing breakfast (eggs, pea meal, potatoes, toast all cooked to order) the morning of our departure. Beds were okay, the room was clean, Natalie was a great hostess!
We were treated like friends or family, hotel is super clean and offers a kitchenette
The room was clean and in excellent condition with country cottage decor. We had an excellent waterfront view of harbor. It was so peaceful. I would highly recommend.
Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms immaculate - every one has a view, and the possibility of seeing a freighter out on the lake keeps you watching. Downstairs restaurant has very good food at a great price.
It is well worth leaving the main highway to stay at this lovely spot on St. Joseph's Island!
Bizarre! we arrived to check in and the door was locked. The sign said if that happened to go to room 102 and check in. We were met there by a man with no shirt who looked like we had just woken him up. Then a woman who was so confused came and tried to check us in. She clearly was not familiar with the check in process and was really rude. Again the next morning, she knocked on our door at 11:15 just staring at her watch and asking why we were not gone yet. We had no idea check out was 11:00 and were just leaving, but she was extremely rude and handled the situation very poorly. So inhospitable all around.
What a great place to stay....and we only came across it because there was very limited vacancies in the area. The rooms were spacious and clean, and there was a balcony that overlooked the Marina. We were warmly greeted by the owner and operator, Natalie, and her mom Raymonde. They made us feel right at home and were very accommodating. We had dinner downstairs at their restaurant and boy o' boy, I gotta tell ya, I had the BEST HOMEMADE BURGER I HAD EVER EATEN!! Raymonde looked after us in the morning and again we had a GREAT breakfast for a very reasonable price (a steal actually). I would like thank the gentleman who cooked our breakfast by name, but I'm sorry, I didn't catch it. I would defiantly stay here again!!!!! Thank you again Natalie and Raymonde (I hope I'm spelling that correctly - my apologies if I'm not) for a fantastic and memorable stay.
