Awesome business/work stay
Pros:

This is my go to hotel whenever I travel for work. I have been staying here for past 5 to 6 years. This time around, I really need to give a shout out. I stayed from 22nd July till 27th July. I was running at a tight schedule of appointments and had no time for breakfast. The staff were so kind.. They diligently prepared takeaway latte and crossaints for me, especially Jeffrey. I also had an encounter with my luggage where I accidently locked it. Amir from housekeeping send someone up and when the problem was unable to solve, I told him its ok. However, he send another technician Lokman to the room to settle the issue for me. From the bellmen to banquet staff.. All were super helpful. Its the people and service that speaks volume for the stay and I am more then happy to reward them a 6 star rating..

5/5 St Regis KL
Pros:

Stay at this property for 6 nights. Overall, the staff, the location, the amenities, and the room were above and beyond expectations. This property truly meets the expectation of a high end 5* hotel. not only for business guests, but also for non-business guests such as myself.

STAFF
- Overall, staff were always polite, friendly, and willing to answer as best as they can. In many cases, staff went above and beyond expectations. These included the butler staff, the restaurant staff, the housekeeping staff and the front desk staff. While I may not be the most experienced traveller, I have had the privileged of staying at some of best hotels in the last 40 years. And these staff at St Regis KL are among the best - better than other luxury chains atm.

LOCATION
- While many would think that this is not the best location, I disagree. It is a short walk to Sentral station, a short work to NU Sentral and also a short walk to Brickfields. Plus, you can walk to the Botanical Gardens, the Museum and of course, take any transit from Sentral to almost anywhere in KL. Overall, I liked staying at this new location. In the past I always stayed at KLCC, or BB, or Bangsar.

AMENITIES
- Great pools, not the longest but well maintained and good for laps and leisure. The gym is well throughout and has all the equipment. Plus, guests have access to some of the amenities of the spa, sauna and cool room.

ROOM
- By far, this exceeded my expectations of a welcoming, luxury and comfortable space. Great colour schemes, comfortable bed (5/5), amazing bathroom (5/5), and the best past, a space specifically to store your luggage and clothes.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the St Regis KL and can't wait to return again.

Roaches, dirty bed sheet and bath water
Pros:

The St Regis Kuala Lumpur is a 5 star hotel. Recently, it was awarded Hotel of the Year and Best City Hotel at the Tatler Best of Malaysia 2025 Awards. Front line personnel are extremely nice and ready to help. Breakfast at this hotel is also extremely pleasant. However, we had the following experiences with the St Regis Kuala Lumpur.

1. Cockroaches should NOT be found anywhere in the hotel, especially not in the rooms.
2. "Red lipstick" or "blood stain" on supposedly clean bed sheet; seriously disturbing
3. Yellow/murky/dirty water coming out of the bathtub: This happened on several occasions spanning across days, not just the first day, after we moved into the room.

We had communicated above issues with different hotel managers. Upper management were slow in response and did not take above issues seriously (their stance appeared to be "let's sweep it under the rug"). This has been a horrible 1 star experience. This review is written to warn all who are interested in visiting the property, and to encourage their senior managers to focus on actually resolving sanitation issues for the hotel, not just hiding behind their desks.

June 2025 at St Regis
Pros:

My rating is a 4.75 stars. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are really comfy and spacious. The staff is above and beyond from check in to shuttle to the KLIA train station. The reason for the 4.75 is the location. The location is great for Sentral station, however with Grab you have to loop around to get to other destinations as it’s not on a Main Street.

We did have daily breakfast, and it was plentiful with a variety of options. I also utilized the spa; the massage was really nice after two days of walking. The pool had a good view of the park, and pool side dining was a hit with my kids. We did not utilize the kids club.

We hope to come back for another stay!

4.5 Star out of 5
Pros:

I would still probably stay here again but the rooms were a bit dated. We stayed there in Oct 2023. The staff were very good and attentive. It was a very windy, monsoony week so the pool was closed for safety. The staff were incredible regardless. There was a power outage for about 5 minutes once but that must be due to the weather. the butler service was on point as always and the room service was delicious.

Nice hotel
Pros:

Had a pleasant stay at this hotel as a titanium member. I came here a year ago and they have a very extensive quality breakfast that deserves significant mention. The offerings are fresh, noticeable enough that even salad they have is curated to ensure that all your leaves you pick are verdant and lush. It’s a noticeable improvement when the variety of your salads appear exotic and colorful, showing the extent and scope of their attention to detail.

The towels in this hotel are unusually soft. I can’t remember the last time I’ve ever noticed this quality before but it certainly shows. The room itself was comfortable but with a noticeable quirk. While we were upgraded to the Caroline Astor suite, the lamp in that room’s switch did not work to turn off as a family member was sleeping with a rollaway in the living room. The master switch had no effect on the light. It had to be turned off only by pressing a switch deep in the adjacent cupboard which was not immediately evident and it was in the middle of a bunch of other wires which did not look like a good place to start randomly pressing buttons. While I called the concierge to help us fix this problem, it felt like a strange cheap fix rather than to replace the light for a caliber of this hotel. I don’t know if this happens for other suites with this lamp but it was a curious discovery. The Astor bar here was in a scene in the filming of Crazy Rich Asians and it has a drink to pay homage to it called The Astrid. Overall though the stay was pleasant and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The best in KL, with unmatched room sizes and walk-in wardrobe luxury!
Pros:

Had another fantastic, though brief, 2-night stay here at St. Regis. It's become our go-to now in KL. We have stayed quite a few times in Shangri-La, Mandarin Oriental, etc but where the rooms are concerned, St. Regis KL is miles, miles, ahead of the game.

With the entry rooms at 63sqm housing a drop-dead gorgeous and generously spaced walk-in wardrobe, Toto toilets and double sink bathrooms, one can't really go wrong. Throw in luxurious furnishings & finishings, a butler service that will bring you coffee, hot chocolate, etc. throughout the day, St. Regis can easily blow its competition away, save for a few weak points. What works in favour of this hotel is also its very reasonable rates compared to other top-end hotels in KL. In fact, our booking was cheaper than both the Four Seasons & Mandarin Oriental the nights we were there.

Booked through the American Express FHR programme, we were astounded by our upgrade to the top floor 138 sqm St. Regis Suite. The living room itself was jaw-dropping, and there was even a separate room for massage. But as always, the space I appreciated the most was the walk-in wardrobe room - with hangers on both sides of the room with ample luggage space beneath it, it makes unpacking & packing a breeze (there's always the butler who will do this for you!). Topped with a spacious dressing table and chair, this is the epitome of travelling with ease!

Now, to a few 'weak' points - as gorgeous as the huge bathroom was, with astounding floor to ceiling windows revealing views of the city, it proved a little difficult to use. Instead of a separate shower area from the bathtub, they are housed together japanese-style, which means wetting and potentially dirtying the tub when one is showering. The regular rooms do have the bathtub and shower housed separately and I much prefer this setup. Secondly, there is no real door to this large bathroom - it is an open area which includes the massage room, and the nearest door is at the bedroom quite a distance away. This makes keeping the heat from your shower challenging because the entire bathroom is susceptible to the air condition of its immediate area (which is sizable!). Lastly, I would like to suggest for the three tier towel shelf be put outside the shower/bathtub area, in the proper bathroom itself instead. I found it strange that this rack was actually inside the shower, so when one wants to reach for either a towel or hand towel, you'd have to step into the wet shower area to retrieve one.

More than a few people have commented on the lack of sitting area in the lobby - in fact it is true that aside from four armchairs which awkwardly line the front window area, the lobby is devoid of any form of seats. Guests are very often left to 'hang around' waiting to be served at the four front desks, or for their pick up in front. I find this an odd arrangement for such a luxurious hotel chain. Furthermore, it is true that there are always staff standing around near the front door area, but they don't necessarily actively come ask the guests if they need any assistance. You are left wondering who you should ask for different queries. Twice over two visits, I noticed that the bellboys (if there were ones) did not come collect our luggage from us while we were checking in, nor did anyone approach us upon seeing us with our luggages when we were checking out. I think that this process would be the first thing which greets you as you pull up to any hotel entrance. In fact, now that I think about it, I do not recall seeing any luggage trolleys at all, nor luggages stored to the side of the lobby. Does this mean that the hotel does not offer help with luggage either checking in or out? Also, a couple of times, we wanted to look for the concierge to ask for directions, but again, there was no real 'concierge desk' nor designated personnel. The four desk agents are at opposite ends of each other with no clear signs whether they are check in or check out agents, or even the concierge.

I think that a bit of reorganising with the lobby and check in process would definitely raise the level of the St. Regis KL because one does not feel that top-notch personalised service is apparent in this area; important since it is the first impression any guest would have arriving at the hotel. Besides, with the Waldorf Astoria and Park Hyatt opening in the city, this St. Regis would need to "keep up with the Joneses" so to speak!

Otherwise, breakfast, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were on point and helpful, obviously on par with expectations for a hotel of this stature. Kudos also to the entire butler team and the reservations team for such an awesome upgrade!

A Perfect Stay for Special Occasions
Pros:

I recently stayed at St. Regis Kuala Lumpur to celebrate my daughter's birthday and our wedding anniversary. The team at St. Regis went all out to decorate the room for these special occasions. The decorations were beautiful, and we had an unforgettable celebration.

Special shoutout to our Butler, Nicole, who patiently walked me through the list of drinks and accommodated our special requests. The breakfast experience at Brasserie was outstanding, with top-notch food and service.

We truly enjoyed our time at St. Regis KL.

Could be better.
Pros:

Let’s begin with the room which was spacious, well kept and comfortable. Extreme soundproofing for then ones that love peace and tranquillity.
Great breakfast and special mention for the butler Natasha and the butler service in whole: professional, attentive and warm.
Perfectly located few steps from KL Sentral station which means 28minutes express ride to airport.
Unfortunately it is and feels like a business hotel: meaning that if you stay, as we did, for a leisure trip, you will feel the lack of a vibrant atmosphere or no atmosphere at all.

CONS (that should be considered by the management):

- TV channels offer is still in the 90s

- the Astor bar closes at 24.00: seated at 23.00 and ordered 1st round, at 23.15 they enforced a last order, at 23.20 they presented the bill. The staff clearly want to shut down the place and leave. This is unacceptable in a 5 stars luxury hotel where main bars are happy to welcome and let costumers, that usually tip accordingly, enjoy their time and drinks without pressure.

-for the first 2 nights (upon complaining) the turndown staff showed up at the door at 17.00/17.30, while the was sun still up, while we were relaxing before getting ready for dinner and so still in need to use shower, vanity, coffee/tea and the other room’s amenities and including not having the blackout curtains closed at 17.30!
Never experienced something like this before. As in Hyatt, Peninsula or MO: turndown is always done after sunset, when guest are out dining and happy to find their room cleaned and prepared for the night at their return.

Bad service
Pros:

The staff customer service at the main lobby of St Regis hotel Kuala Lumpur are too picky and like to chase customers sitting at the lobby waiting for guests . They should really mind their own business and only approach a customer when thr customers need or ask for assistance .

They are too busy body instead of doing their actual work , they ‘harass’ customers there .

For an esteemed hotel your staff at this hotel are really not at all great or live up to its reputation!??????!!????!!????!!!!!!!!

Pros:

Stayed here for 2 nights in Feb/25. Rooms are nice and hotel staffs are nice and helpful.
Hotel location is ok, it is by the main train station and other mainstream hotels but not much nearby to walk to. Breakfast taste good but the buffet area/selection can be bigger.

Exceptional Hotel
Pros:

Great hotel with exceptionally service. The staff is very friendly and professional. We stayed in a Caroline Suite and the room was very large with modern amenities. This is a very clean hotel and the restaurants and bar/lounge is very good no matter the tie of day. We checked in with ease and Mervyn took extra time to explain everything. The staff was always available no matter what we needed.
