The staff were rude and unhelpful (and too busy talking to each other sometimes to assist). The food was very average and the breakfast area was constantly overcrowded with a shortage of cups and cutlery. The bedding was changed but with a damp duvet. Truly awful. The staff also lied and told me there were no stairs (I found them eventually).

I am a regular guest to this hotel and I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at Holiday Inn Cheraga Tower during my recent stay was unacceptable and deeply disappointing — particularly in terms of room service and guest handling.
I booked a full-package stay through my travel agency, which included all meals, room service, laundry, spa access, and other services (excluding alcoholic beverages). However, when I called in-room dining to place an order, I was met with confusion from the agent, who was unsure whether I had the full package or not. He promised to check and get back to me — which took nearly an hour — only to incorrectly inform me that I did not have the full package included.
I then went down to the reception myself, where the receptionist confirmed that the reservation agent had made an error by incorrectly marking my room as not eligible for the full package. It was their internal mistake — not mine, and not the travel agency’s. The receptionist assured me that the issue was resolved and that my food would be delivered shortly.
Unfortunately, another hour passed, and nothing arrived. When I called room service again, the in room dining agent told me that he had just received confirmation from the receptionist to process my order — which was not true, as the receptionist had called him much earlier. What was most upsetting, however, was the room service agent dismissive and disrespectful attitude. His tone was unprofessional and lacked the courtesy expected in hospitality. He spoke to me in a way that was completely inappropriate — as if I were a burden, not a paying guest.
To make matters worse, I discovered that there was no duty manager available at night — a serious oversight for any hotel, especially one that claims international standards.
This entire experience left me extremely frustrated and disappointed. A hotel of this category should have well-trained staff who know how to handle guest concerns professionally, especially when the mistake is on their side. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides proper training to its staff — particularly in guest relations and communication. Until then, I cannot recommend this hotel and will think twice before returning.
The experience was amazing they have the best service, the staff are so friendly and approachable, the rooms are clean and tidy and their room service is amazing, and the best part is the buffet, went there for breakfast and the food was delicious, the service was on point i was taken care of by Yasser and i would like to thank him for his excellent service.

It is a very standard hotel. There is not much variety at breakfast but the staff is friendly especially Yasser the waiter who was very professional and friendly
The hotel has been rated for the rooms which were on the 20th floor and were immaculately maintained and spacious.
Got a Queen suite and enjoyed all the room provided and comfort. One of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in with great views.
The lift was slow and the hotel didn’t have a bar but apart from that great stay.

I stayed at this hotel during the IsDB annual meetings in Algiers and found it unsuitable for hosting large groups. The hotel was fully booked, and basic services suffered as a result. Nearly every day, clean towels were not provided without calling reception — often after returning late and tired. On one occasion, I had to call multiple times and wait late into the evening just to get a towel, despite having arrived at 3 AM that day.
The room had maintenance issues: the door handle was loose, the toilet flush didn’t work properly, and the shower water was barely warm. Staff were generally not very attentive and had limited English proficiency, which made communication difficult at times.
I had dinner at the hotel twice and experienced very slow service both times. Despite the restaurant not being busy, I had to remind staff I was ready to order. On the positive side, breakfast was good, and the bed was comfortable and clean.

Rooms
Let’s begin with the room. The toilet looks like it survived a battlefield, scratched and faded beyond recognition. The bathroom bin, rusted and filthy, could double as a biohazard warning. The sink? A masterpiece of stains and negligence. The shower floor? So dirty you’d feel cleaner skipping it altogether. Fixtures and door handles are smudged and sticky, ensuring you never feel at ease touching anything. The ceiling lights are barely holding on, with shoddy fittings that scream “we gave up.”
The mini-fridge deserves a horror movie of its own—stains, grime, and insect remains in full view. Imagine opening it for water and finding a scene straight out of your worst nightmares.
Common Areas
Step out, and things somehow get worse. A dead tree welcomes you in the lobby, a fitting metaphor for the lifeless service and care. Dirty floors, unpolished surfaces, and neglected fixtures are the defining features of this supposed “four-star” hotel.
The kitchen entrance is a disaster zone. You’d expect some semblance of hygiene, but instead, you’re greeted with dirty tiles, unkempt corners, and an overwhelming sense of disarray.
Breakfast
Breakfast is the crowning glory of this disaster. 30 minutes for an omelet while the line snakes endlessly. Cups for coffee? None. Juice glasses? Gone. The staff’s solution? Plastic goblets, because nothing says “luxury” like sipping coffee out of picnic-grade cups. Coffee machines break down mid-service, leaving guests waiting 20 more minutes just for a basic cup of coffee. Dirty tables and a lack of plates make the entire experience a test of patience rather than a meal.
Decor and Maintenance
The attention to detail is non-existent. The door to your room is smudged and poorly maintained, while the walls and floors carry stains that should’ve been dealt with ages ago. The decor—or lack thereof—is a mix of dead plants, mismatched furniture, and fixtures barely held together. The entire property feels like it’s been forgotten by time and management alike.
Verdict
If you’re searching for disappointment, neglect, and frustration all wrapped in a “four-star” facade, you’ve hit the jackpot. Holiday Inn Cheraga Algiers doesn’t just fall short—it doesn’t even show up. Avoid at all costs.

So on my visit for the dinner I didn’t like the menu but these people made sure that I will get some thing according to my taste and they provided me the finest food and with finest service

Bon séjour. J’aime bien cet hôtel mais j’ai du réclamé car il n’y avait ni poubelle de salle de bain ni serviette pour les mains. Pas de petit déjeuner au bar si on ne prend pas le buffet. Le service est bien mais certains employés ne sont pas professionnels. L’un des réceptionnistes m’a bousculé sans même s’excuser.
Bon séjour, belle chambre, propre. Seuls points négatifs: le thé à la menthe était froid les 2 jours où j'ai pris le petit déjeuner et la receptionniste qui devait faire le check out était impolie.
