The staff were nice
As bad as I hate to write this review (because the staff were nice) this motel should not still be running. There’s definitely “hidden” mold in that hotel, and that’s dangerous/uninhabitable. It is very unhealthy for mold to be present, people can get really sick from it.
You can smell the musky, earthy, smell when you’re walking down the hallway; covered up with air fresheners. They were not able to mask the smell in the room, especially the bathroom. I could not sleep because the air was so muggy. I had to ask that the AC unit be cleaned (I have severe allergies to dust/mold) and if they did clean it, I couldn’t tell.
I really wanted to like this place. I feel like people work so hard to run a business and may not be able to afford the necessary repairs/renovations that others can; however, mold is unsafe. Also, the shower was so dingy I didn’t even take a shower (I never miss a day of taking a shower), and the ceiling panel was falling down. My body itched the entire night and the bed was so hard that I woke up with my back hurting.
It’s actually the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in some pretty rough ones. Again, I hate writing a review like this but it needs to be said so maybe they will take the initiative to make these necessary changes.
The staff/owners were very kind and welcoming, which I really appreciated. The beds were clean and comfortable, and I didn’t see any issues with roaches or bedbugs. For the price, it was a decent place to stay.
The floors and overall room cleanliness need improvement they were pretty dirty. I would recommend bringing your own cleaning supplies if you plan to stay.
