Old property in need of update. Very run down.
No kettle, one large towel each. Poor shower.
Deposit box took half an hour for staff to manage to reopen.
No breakfast despite reviews of it.
Noisy old aircon.
I stayed here for one night while on a two-week self-driving road trip that included Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Lampang, and Nan.
I chose this accommodation because it had ample parking and good reviews.
It’s a typical Asian city-center-style budget hotel. Unfortunately, the property is old, dated, and needs renovation.
However, the room and bathroom were large, comfortable, and reasonably clean. The refrigerator, air conditioning, hot water, and wi-fi worked well. The bedding was okay, the towels appeared to be new.
At a walk-in rate of 550 THB, I thought it was a good deal. Breakfast was included as well but it was a typical local style.
One of the best places we had, breakfast very tasry
Nearby restaurants. Horse carriages passing by
Nice, large room ,well maintained. TV has some Thai channels of no interest. Bed very comfortable and location is quiet and close to restaurants. Breakfast is Asian style but quite good. Friendly receptionist.
This place is a bargain - grab it.
Lovely spacious rooms, hotel in good location. Friendly helpful staff
have just stayed for a couple of night during week end trip to Lampang. Asia Lampang is at a few minutes walk to famous weekend evening street market. There are a few good taste street food shops in just a couple of minutes walking for breakfast, lunch and dinner. a couple of shops open early in the morning( before 6 am) , this is good especially for ones who plan for early morning trip to outside city center. Room was clean and equipped with basic facilities, including LED TV, refrigerator, however, hair drier and tea pot were not included. The deluxe rooms were on the fifth floor, this made a bit uncomfortable as elevators only reached the fourth floor. Moving big baggage up and down seemed to be a bit difficult. Breakfast was simple, American breakfast plus with a few Thai dishes. I overall Asia Lampang is justify for its location, cleanliness, and price!
I like the room, it's very spacious, but the toilet is a bit old and rundown. The hot water in the shower didn't work at first but they eventually fixed it. We asked for help getting a car to take us around and the girl at the reception (sorry, forgot her name!) is very helpful and speaks good English. The breakfast is a buffet spread. While it's not much, it's still decent. It's close to a lot of restaurants but we didn't see a nearby convenience store to buy water.
We have stayed here twice. Both rooms were very nice for the money (around $20 or so). Clean bathroom, renovated rooms, and the breakfast was ok too. Location was good. You can walk to the “downtown” street where they have the Saturday night street market in 5 minutes or less.
This hotel location is just within walking distance to Kad Kong Ta weekend walking sreets. Its facilities including multipurpose banquet room with at least 150- 200 people capacity , parking space, lovely, relaxing breakfast space . It's quite silent at night time despite citycenter location. Room facilites are of its 3 starred standard.
The hotel is well located not far from the river, weekend market, restaurants and shopping. Our room was large, comfortable and clean with nice bathroom/hot water.
Free WiFi. Some posters have complained about the buffet breakfast because I think they were expecting a more western style buffet. My (Thai) wife and I found the breakfast quite good for this type hotel. Will stay here again on our next trip to Lampang.
Situated in central Lampang this pleasant hotel met our needs nicely. The staff were helpful, could speak English and were ready to answer all our questions. There is a buffet breakfast that was adequate, but of course the coffee sucked (just dilute it down with hot water). There was toast, jam , butter, rice porridge (hey try it, we enjoyed it) rice with two dishes that you put on top...very Thai, very good. My husband said "this tastes like somebody knows what they are doing".
Yes yes yes we will stay here again. Khop khun mak khaa to all staff.
There are several old style hotels in this area of central Lampang. We enquired here and were pleasantly surprised. Midweek the hotel was very quiet. We were given a deluxe room in the renovated area of the hotel - very large, clean, comfortable with good bathroom. Breakfast is Thai-style, reflecting the vast majority of their customers but with fruit, eggs and toast it's adequate. Good WiFi throughout. All for discount price of 700 baht including two breakfasts.
I'm staying here now, for a 4 night stay. 750 baht a night for the Deluxe room.
The plus. Review of the Deluxe room
+ location is great
+ very big room
+ aircon is good
+ some nice upgrades have been done to this old room.
The minus.
- the hotel is old
- no fascilities
- breakfast if you anything else than rice.

Great value for money and well located in the centre of town. The hotel is clean, with airconditioning, TV and a restaurant and has been recently refurbished. The breakfast buffet leaves a bit to be desired and room service doesn't start till 5.30 pm, but otherwise the hotel is fine.
About the best I can say is that this hotel was adequate. It was close enough to be able to walk to the Central Plaza for shopping and a while selection of food and other things. The hotel includes a breakfast buffet but it was not very impressive. There was very little selection, and some of what was offered had ants in it.
Over the last six years we have stayed here numerous times whilst visiting family in Lampang, sorry to say this will be the last time, we will stay at this old faithful. We were a small group of five adults and a small child, we wanted two family rooms, but due to a wedding only one was available, so opted for a delux with an extra bed and a family room. Rooms are old and are now of a very poor quality and value, delux rooms was a joke, bed linen clean but old, toilet cleanish, no shower curtain, leaking toilet, fan that sounded like a pneumatic drill, only one power socket for the whole room which TV and cable box lugged into. Unpleasant sewage smell from toilet, even before we used it! though this seems to be an issue generally in Lampang.
The nice Lanna style restaurant which was a real feature of this hotel has now been replaced by some hideous concrete box. A basic breakfast is served in the reception, coffee grim, no milk only powder, bread tasted as if it had been made with floor sweepings! Green curry and rice soup however excellent. This hotel now seems to constantly hold weddings, embarrassingly upon leaving the lift, we walked straight into the bride and groom and others waiting to get into the lift and had to rather rudely push our way through the wedding parade!.
Staffs attitude to customers, mixed, those that made the rooms up and extra bed, happy smiling and pleasant. The bellboy watched us struggling with bags and ignored us, we complained about the noise of the fan, which was hanging of the ceiling and probably had been for sometime, they sent a member of staff to look, who told us just not to switch the van on and left. Check in staff need to learn how to smile, certainly not land of smiles here!
Next time we will try somewhere else, though the hotel is in the process of being renovated and things may improve.
From the best location in Lampang, the hotel is in. The heart of the city , easy to go to the train station, airport and also bus terminal. Recently completely renavted, the hotel looks boutique , i booked this hotel for my guests from other city for 2day stay, looking dround the city, easy aceding to Kad Kong Ta night market, and many local food stalls to try along the street (Bunyawat road) .
This hotel is centrally located and convenient for a walk around the old part of town. It is near the walking street, river, and not too far from the night food market. However, like several others who have posted about this hotel, it is quite old and needs some renovations. I checked in, quickly unpacked, took a shower and the a/c blew! It was very hot in the room. Called downstairs, the technicians came right away fixed it, went away and the same thing happened. Came back a second time. And right afterwards the third time and advised me to move to the ground floor! Room was very dark, door faced the parking lot and was loud during the evening.
I have visited this privately owned hotel once a year since 2002 and, sadly, gradually watch it decline. It's best feature was the open above street level restaurant with a comprehensive menu and excellent food. This restaurant is no more as it is all closed in with a 'supposedly modern' exterior and is solely used for weddings and functions. The restaurant has been relegated to the old decaying lobby and rather like sitting in a passage and is only open in the evenings. Food is limited and has to be ordered in advance. The rooms have remained unchanged since my first visit and are showing signs of neglect. There were signs posted in the hotel advising it is 'under renovation' but this seemed to be restricted to the 5th floor as we were woken to the builders noises of heavy drilling machinery every morning so after week we moved out. We were on the 4th floor. No discount was offered. The work, we were told, will be finished by Songkran (Mid-April). Otherwise the Pin Hotel (nearly opposite) offers a similar rate and do hefty discounts for longer stays so worth checking out. Also their rooms have a small terrace adjoining each room.
